Game Thread Ohio State 24, Penn State 7 (final; 11/07/09)

We threw a few laterals and screens. The one screen to the tight end we threw got blown up. I think that with the different plays we called in the first half, we now know what will work and what wont after a full half. Tress will get our boys ready.

The second half will come down to attitude. A long 15 minute break can define this team for the next 10 quarters of the season. Our defense needs to stay both pumped and observant, the O needs to be ready, confident and smart not to play well but to WIN.

Eh, can't take much from that TE screen since it was a blown up call to begin with. IIRC it was 2nd or 3rd and 20. Can't be mad with that. It seems the Pryor gets a little too excited and air mails his passes... Once he calms down a bit, those passes will be on the money.

Truly. Maybe he is thinking of running for that 1st down. Oh wait, that would mean he is not hurt.

He's been running a bit funny but it hasn't hurt his speed at all and he doesn't look like he's limping at all.

The Zone Defense is working fine....we've played unbelievable on Defense so far. Don't change something that's working.

The defense is looking good, but when we do play zone it breaks down.

Not only that one, but the over throw to Small but Pryor looked at him like it was Small's fault he did not catch it when the ball was well over his head.

I'd say the unsung hero of this game has been the special teams unit.

Small got us into great field position to put our lone TD on the board. The returner that the ball hit on the heel was heady enough to realize what the situation was and recover for a touch back instead of giving it to PSU. And Barclay connected on his lone FG attempt.

Just as Joe Poop said prior to the game, ST units can and will win this game.
