TB's play is still my #1 area of concern for this team, followed closely by Beanies health.

I know Todd's stats are nice right now but he's had some real bad throws that just weren't taken advantage of by some lower level D's. The good news is if you look at it, we don't really play any scary good defensive teams.

I agree.

Lee Corso seems to LOVE the Buckeyes.

Hope that's not a jinx.

Deathblow... Corso picking us to win big, saying we're the most balanced team in the nation - NC contender.

Herbie knocking us back down to earth. That NC loss really must have gotten his panties in a bundle cause he has been dogging us all year. Really called out Beanie - "He's got to be a man and play. He's been complaining about his ankle for what, two years now?"

Crowd chants "Over-rated." Not surprising...

Are you hoping to invoke Touchdown Jesus for us?

HAHA, if anyone in this game is overrated, it is PURDUE.

OSU is going to roll Purdue. I've said it before, their defense is too bad, while our's is too good. Purdue's defense is a total joke...Don't forget this is the same team that semi-struggled with Notre Dame...and even if our defense does give up a lot of points (which it won't), I doubt that Purdue's defense would be able to stop us from outscoring them.

Todd only has to not make mistakes, He has all the talent surrounding that he needs fot tOSU to win. It is my belief that he will handle that task. I believe in him.

He won't. He get's better each and every week. He was obviously tentative in the first few games, and if your late on throws then they will be picked (or nearly picked). He's now reading the defense better and stepping into throws with confidence because he KNOWS and UNDERSTANDS what he sees. I see him leading this team to a championship, not dragging us down from one as some do. He will continue the progression that we have seen EVERY week and will rip Purdue apart, I have no doubt in my mind.

Have faith in Boeckman guys, he's going to take this team a long long way.

Holy Buckeye almost wasn't

King Right 64 Y Shallow Swap

October 04, 2007 09:39 PM -- Filed in: Football
The title may confuse some but assure you no rosetta stone needed. King Right 64 Y Shallow Swap is perhaps the most recognizable single play in Ohio State history. It resulted in Holy Buckeye which was so important that, without it, the college football gods would've aborted our magical season on the spot. Many still don't know the deep ball was basically the last option. It was really designed to go to tight end Ben Hartsock (the "Y") to simply pick up the first down. Instead, the clutch and magnificently perfect throw by Craig Krenzel obliterated the hearts of Boilermaker's worldwide.

I dont think any of the guys don't think Boeckman won't show up. I think most of us are just worried about a first year starter in a loud, drunk, and hostile environment. You always expect that the team (QB imparticular) will make an error at some point, and it's going to be how he bounces back from that mistake. I hope he comes out and gets a few nice safe passes under his belt to get in a rythme! Either come out and go short with himself and beanies pounding the ball, or another thing I wouldn't object to would be to see us start the game off with a Deep ball to let everyone know that this is not just a team who runs the ball.

On a side note does anyone else want us to KEEP the ball if we win/lose the toss? I think putting purdue's best feature (offense) on the field with a pumped out crowd we be STUPID. We have got to recieve to open the game and go up against Purdue's worst aspect (defense) and shut that crowd up early. I think we can score on purdue any way we want IMO and if we open the game it wouldn't surprise me to see us go up 7-0. In saying that with our offense up 7-0 and purdue's offense finally getting the ball it would just help our defense calm down if they've had to sit through a drive of our offense. I'll say this if we return the ball we win by 10-21 but if we kick the ball off we are in for a close game and it'll be down to the wire.

Todd's improving week to week, which is about all we can hope for right now. It's got to be a difficult adjustment for him going from practice speed back to game speed when he hadn't played a 60-minute competitive game for about four years until this season.

He can make most throws and stands tall in the pocket and delivers the ball even when he knows he's about to get rocked by a LB on a delay. He's just got to stop throwing the ball late. That'll be solved with game reps. It really shouldn't be a problem until we get to Happy Valley.
