Game Thread Ohio State 23, Purdue 7 (final)

I agree Bukipower, get up early and Purdue is done.

However, I don't think that if they score first that we will lose.

I think OSU is just an overall better team and I don't see the close game that everyone else sees.

I think people underestimate our team and how truly good we are and truly not that great Purdue is.

I know it's at night, but if you struggled with Notre Dame, you will lose to OSU no matter what time of day it is.

I dont think any of the guys don't think Boeckman won't show up. I think most of us are just worried about a first year starter in a loud, drunk, and hostile environment. You always expect that the team (QB imparticular) will make an error at some point, and it's going to be how he bounces back from that mistake..
I never worry about a Tressel trained QB being poised or losing it before a rowdy crowd , or any kind of crowd.
Why do expect him to make an error? JMO but that isn't faith in Todd, thats expecting him to screw up.
My opinion is that QB's at tOSU start out poised and stay poised thru anything if they are playing under Tress.
And that is what I expect from Todd, or Robby, or Henton

Boeckman has completed 69 percent (37-of-54) of his passes for 549 yards with eight touchdowns and one interception in his last 10 quarters. I'll just say this. Boeckman is CONFIDENT and READY to go! Especially against a defense that gives up 257 pass yards per game against Toledo, Eastern Illinois, Central Michigan, Minnesota, and Notre Dame. They also gave up the most points that Notre Dame has scored all year, and gave up an astonishing 426 yards to them. Give me a break guys. OSU is going to ROLL.

EDIT: woops! can't forget mighty CENTRAL MICHIGAN.

osubuckeyes2731- good to see we kind of think a like my friend, but I never said we would lose the game I said it'd be close. Of course I think the bucks will win either way. The other big thing to think about here is even IF Purdue comes out hot moving the ball and scoring points we know how we adjust. Our adjustments will begin to slowly sufficate that Purdue offense where as I see Purdue's defense not making adjustments. The reason I say that is because I believe OSU will shut down either the run/or pass, and Purdue will struggle to shut down a specific aspect of our offense making it nearly impossible to adjust. I mean how will Purdue adjust when they don't know what to stop? The run or the pass? I hope we show a bit more of a wide open attack this week to really throw off Purdue. Get Beanie running out of the Shot gun with DB's trying to stop him. GOOD LUCK PURDUE.

Best Buckeye- I do worry about Todd, but I have full faith in him. I was one of the people sticking up for Todd Boeckman when people were calling to see more of Henton. The reason I expect an error or so is because this man. Go back to last year Troy was flawless against Iowa and co., and to expect someone to play as mistake free and flawless as him is still expecting too much out of a first year starter. I don't think Todd will blow this game or anything but rather just 1 mistake early. Wether that be an INT, wrong autible, fumble the snap, get a delay of game who knows? The mistake could be minor and I'm not saying it'll be an INT or something but it would be selfish not to give some room for error in this one, but if there's a guy I want under center for the bucks tonight trust me it's TODD BOECKMAN.

I agree watchin the ND offense put up good numbers on Purdue sure makes you sleep better at night before gameday thats for sure. Also another thing I thought ND did pretty well was A) stop Sheetz running the ball, and B) put pressure on Painter. Upgrade ND's defense for our defense and we shouldn't be in bad shape. However, dont' fool yourselves either Purdue is going to be geared up and they'll be ready for us. To expect Purdue to lay flat is expecting too much especially in the environment we'll be playing in. OSU-27 Purdue 19

Good post Bukipower.

I just want to make a few points for people to chew on (I posted some of this on the other OSU board).

Purdue gave up 426 yards to Notre Dame (Purdue was outgained by them also) and gave ND it's highest point total this year. We ALL know how bad Notre Dame is (average 195 yards per game).

They gave up 465 yards to Central Michigan. 365 of those were passing. Boeckman will be just fine. I'd go as far as to say he will have a GREAT day.

They gave up 24 points to Toledo, 22 to Central Michigan, 31 to Minnesota, and 19 to Notre Dame. I think we will score at least 35.

And in case you forgot, OSU has an incredible defense, which gives up 197 yards per game and has allowed just 36 points in 5 games, to stop that Purdue offense.

There is no doubt in my mind that OSU will dominate this game. We are going to absolutely RIP Purdue's heart out!

Oh, I don't expect Purdue to lay flat at all. I expect them to give them OSU their best shot, and for them to fail miserably. I expect our guys to open it up early and take the fans out of the game. We are the better team by a mile and Purdue will be completely exposed.

lol I like the enthusiasm 2731.... I'd like to be as confident as you thats for sure! I think our offense will do what it wants, but I think our offense isn't nearly aggressive enough to put up 35 points? I'd love to be wrong though thats for sure! Look at the Minnesota game for example we could've scored probably what? 50? If we really wanted to? but our offense that game was RUN, RUN, pass, RUN, RUN, RUN, RUN. I just think we'll be running the ball too much to get up that big. The potential is there for a huge game and a straight up beatdown like you said, but IMO I just see this game being a little closer thats all. I think if anything OSU will allow it to be close. I have a feeling it's going to be one of those games where you're sitting there going "how is this game within 17 points?"
