Game Thread Ohio State 20, Wisconsin 17 (Oct. 4)

Huge Win, great clutch drive by TP. Beanie is ridiculous.

Ok now for the bad part. The game shouldnt have been that close. I know we say this all the time, but I cant take many more blasts to the ticker like this

Think the D is poorly coached, and the offensive playcalling is just not good. No imagination, poor pass routes, etc. You have so much talent on offense, and to bottle yourself up into not using it, is just beyond me.

Ok rant over. Anytime you can go into Madison and come out with a win is big. Purdon't up next........I will continue taking some prozac before all games until something changes :p

Toward the end of that game, I was preparing in my mind all of the stuff I was gonna post second guessing things about this game. I think most of it still applies, but it can wait. The Buckeyes pulled out a tough win, and that's worth savoring for a little while before getting into some of the concerns. So instead, I have this:

  • GO BUCKS!
  • Fuck Wisconsin
  • Fuck Camp Randall
  • Fuck their night games
  • Fuck that dude with the badger gloves
  • Fuck their band
  • Fuck ESPN and their lousy camera angles
  • Fuck the refs
  • Fuck Mike Patrick. You go to hell.
Ohio State wins. Life is good.

Mercy I love these freshmen.

The confidence and swagger with which Pryor popped off that bench after a dominating Wisky drive to take the lead.

Brewster running 15+ yds beyond a screen play to try and bury his man, who had run away from the play.

watching this ending to this game reminded me of the shoe' when we played Texas'. Everyone was wondering that year "can vince young beat teams with his arm for once" and that last drive for Terrelle unfortunately reminded me of the Lima Sweed touchdown drive (same ending atleast). The scary thing is Terrelle is starting to prove this as a freshman. He was essentially shut down running the ball, and figured out a way to come back with his arm and put this game on ice for us.

For a freshman to do what he did on that drive is just sick, and just imagine how he'll be at the end of this year/next year (not to mention as a junior). The gameball still goes to Beanie though. Such a power guy!! You saw that stiff arm two times tonight and both times were devistating!

This was the exact type of win this team/program needed. It would've done us no good to go in and blow them out. This teams needed to learn to do what it took to fight and claw for 60 minutes. Not great, but damn the best win we've had in quite some time here.

As for the Aflack trivia question I posed today "when was the last time we adjusted correctly at half time"

the answer is..... Oct. 4th @Wisconsin. You can't do anything about Clay. Besides him we did a tremendous job applying pressure and allowing ZERO time for #4 to throw the ball. Way to pick up the slack D-line!
