Ohio Bobkittens (Beavis, FredOU, Hocking Jackassery)

Most of the people I know that went to OU are Buckeye fans that just happened to choose a different school. I don't understand the angst in one direction or another with respect to athletics or academics.

Both state schools that I support even though I didn't attend OU.

to be fair, all of the older OU fans are, of course, very nice

the problem is the student population (surprise, surprise)

even when it is not football season, any OU students that you see out and about in Columbus (or across Ohio I would imagine) will let you know that they are from OU

they take a large amount of pride in the fact that they are the self proclaimed greatest party school on earth

this leads to OU students who try and drink anyone they run into under the table to prove how hardcore they party, which of course leads to general drunken college style dickishness almost anytime they are around

throw in a football game and you get mascots who tackle other mascots

like I said, it is a pretty good summary of OU behavior from what I have experienced... at least from their students

I really don't understand why anyone is upset over what ultimately was a harmless prank. Lighten up.

because Brutus clearly wanted nothing to do with it and avoided the initial tackle and left the area, yet the Bobcat pursued Brutus from behind and continued to harass him well beyond the point of a harmless prank

it was also initiated right in the middle of the team running on the field, which is a tradition for all college teams, not some harmless antics on the sidelines during a timeout in the third quarter

would it be a harmless prank if someone ran out and tackled the sousaphone player as they were dotting the I?

Apparently those poles that support the flags aren't cheap. Would you want to foot the bill on it?
Would you like to land on said pole right on your shin?

Sure nothing bad came out of it, but there's a lot that could have happened. It's more about setting an example than punishing the repercussions.

I've always hated OU. Everything about that football program is bush. Back when we played at OU they put their band on the field 3 feet behind the opposing team bench. It was impossible to hear the coaches when we had our meetings on the bench. Only a pussy ass school like OU would need to manufacture noise on the sidelines with their band.
Fuck the apology OU needs to go on the blacklist for OSU. Hit them in the pocketbook where it hurts.

no thanks, actions speak louder than words, and I got to experience OU fans pathetic instigating, rudeness and obnoxiousness all day Saturday, that is enough for me

The term you're looking for is observational selection.

Let's not forget the fans from various other schools who will swear up and down all Ohio State fans are obnoxious idiots because of encounters with a relatively few turds in the punch bowl.

it may be a classless move and the kid should be removed from the position of mascot, but that is freaking hilarious. my favorite part is that all the cheerleaders just walk around it like they are invisible. as long as the guy who dresses like brutus is ok, then it will be funny. if anyone got hurt, then it would be sad. however, for now, it's hilarious. . great stuff.

Amount paid by tOSU to pound OUr little brother: $850,000
Two tickets to witness tOSU pound OUr little brother: $140
Watching OUr little brother give the rest of the nation a glimpse of its jealously towards tOSU while completely embarrassing itself in the process: Priceless
