As an OU alum, I have to disagree with this statement. The Marching 110 is without a doubt the most EXCITING damn band in the land.

Please! They're the Pat Boone...the Michael Bolton...the Kenny G...the Vanilla Freakin' Ice...version of the great African-American college bands in the South. If you want to see how it's really done, I'd suggest checking out the halftime show at Grambling or Southern.

The Marching 110 is a Marching Minstrel Show.

I watching the replay of Northwestern and Syracuse right now and those two yayhoos are calling it. Man, it's gonna suck having to listen to those two call our game...

I might have to deal with the delay of listening to it on the radio while watching in HD.... :(

Tressel says Wells will be fine Injured Ohio State running back is uncertain to play Saturday against Ohio University
Published on Wednesday, Sep 03, 2008

Associated Press
COLUMBUS: Coach Jim Tressel has some reassuring words for all those fretful Ohio State fans who have had trouble sleeping since tailback Chris ''Beanie'' Wells hit the deck with a right foot injury on Saturday.
''Tell them to worry about [hurricanes] Gustav and Rita and those kinds of things,'' Tressel said Tuesday. ''Beanie's going to be fine.''
Wells was in obvious agony in the moments after he fell to the turf in the third quarter of the 43-0 victory Saturday over Youngstown State. He was almost dragging the foot, encased in an immobilizing boot, when he slowly returned to the sideline to watch the last few minutes of the blowout.
Yet Tressel didn't slam the door on the possibility that Wells might still play in the game Saturday against Ohio University. The Bobcats are a five-touchdown underdog against the Buckeyes, who dropped a spot to No. 3 in this week's Associated Press Top 25.

Bobcats focusing on in-state players
Solich's recruiting pitch results in gains from central Ohio

By Mark Znidar

The Columbus Dispatch
ATHENS, Ohio -- It was breaking news when Jim Cordle, a man-mountain of a guard from Lancaster, chose to play football for Ohio State during the winter of 2004. Cordle was a high school All-American and so highly recruited that scores of college coaches had to cross him off their wish lists.
Just the same, there were wide smiles at Ohio University several months later when Tommy Stuck, who played next to Cordle at center in high school, said he would join the Bobcats.
The two friends will become adversaries when the Bobcats and Buckeyes meet Saturday in Ohio Stadium.
"We're friends, but we won't be talking this week," Stuck said, smiling. "This is going to be exciting. That atmosphere is going to be unbelievable. I can't wait."
It will be a homecoming of sorts for Stuck and 13 other Ohio players from the Columbus area.

Robiskie winged but well

Receiver Brian Robiskie left Saturday's opener after landing on his bothersome right shoulder after a touchdown catch. But Tressel said Robiskie is ready to play.
"Brian could have come back in the game," Tressel said. "It was one of those, you know, where it stings for a while. But we didn't let him go back in the game."
Tressel also said starting safety Kurt Coleman is practicing this week after missing the opener because of an ankle sprain. Whether Coleman will play against Ohio remains to be seen, Tressel said.
"He looked fine; his knee is not bothering him at all," Russell said. "He's coming right along."

Hey... what's wrong with Boone, Bolton and Kenny G???

Seriously the Marching 110 is a VERY good band. Yes the great southern bands are more exciting than the 110. But it brings that flavor up north and there is nothing wrong with that.

It is very simple, the 110 and the OSU band are just different styles. But both have great musicians playing in them.
