"Coach (Kerry) Coombs called me last week and was at the school last week," Kraemer said. "They have not stopped. Coach Coombs said they aren't going to stop until I sign, so I'll take it as it is and focus on Notre Dame."
But here's the $1 million question: Does Ohio State stand a chance in flipping Kraemer?
The answer, at least right now, is something Meyer isn't used to hearing.
"No. I don't think so," Kraemer said. "I am very happy with Notre Dame and I love it there. I knew when I first visited that was the place for me, and I've never looked back since. I take pride in the fact that one of the top players in Ohio is going to Notre Dame over Ohio State.
"I think it shows that they still have that recruiting tie in Ohio and can keep it going."

For the Cincinnati Elder standout, the competition was good, but only Ohio State commit Jonathan Cooper gave him a run for his money.
“Some of the competition is what I was used to, but Jonathan Cooper was on a whole different level,” said Kraemer. “I wasn’t used to that level of competition, but I felt I handled him pretty well. I am going to keep working, so I am used to the bump up in competition.”
The reps against Cooper provide Kraemer with some valuable experience and a good judgment on what he needs to work on this summer.
“I think I am going to keep working on my speed and get a little faster,” he explained. “My speed was the only problem I had with Cooper. I felt good in the other aspects and held my line well. It was my quickness in my feet that will be need to get a little bit quicker.”
The 6-foot-5, 310-pounder also got a chance to simply bond with other top prospects that have gone through the recruiting process.
Yep. From ND's official roster:The Irish don't really have any recruiting ties to Ohio, not more than any other state. In any given year they rarely get more than a few out of Ohio and it's almost always the Catholic school kids anyway. They average about 7-8 kids on the entire roster from the state which is much less than a place like scUM.
Yep. From ND's official roster:
Byrne, Jimmy (Cleveland, OH/St. Ignatius)
Cage, Daniel (Cincinnati, OH/Winton Woods)
Grace, Jarrett (Cincinnati, OH/Colerain)
Hounshell, Chase (Kirtland, OH/Lake Catholic)
Kizer, DeShone (Toledo, OH/Central Catholic)
Matuska, Jacob (Columbus, OH/Bishop Hartley)
Suttman, Ben (Kettering, OH/Archbishop Alter)
Zaire, Malik (Kettering, OH/Archbishop Alter)
Seven of the eight kids from Ohio went to Catholic schools.
I stand corrected...not sure why I thought Winton Woods was Catholic (I think I saw a Catholic School somewhere before that didn't have a Catholic name). Still, we can see that few Ohio kids from non-Catholic schools commit to Notre Dame (see both 2016 commits from Ohio also being from Catholic schools).Six of eight. Winton Woods and Colerain are public schools

A Sponsored Ministry of the Franciscan Friars of the Province of St. John the Baptist, Cincinnati, OhioI have no idea who/what that is...
I wouldn't expect the OSU staff to stop pursuing, but there's little to no chance Kraemer flips...For Meyer and Coombs, as Yogi said: "it ain't over til it's over".....
COOMBS AFTER FIVE-STAR OHIOAN. To put it bluntly, Urban Meyer doesn't give a damn about your verbal commitments. He'll pursue talent up until the closing minutes of National Signing Day (see: Weber, Mike).
Cincinnati's Tommy Kraemer, a 2016 five-star OT, committed to Notre Dame last October. He's still in Ohio State's sights, though.
From Ari Wasserman of cleveland.com:
This year's target is four-star offensive tackle Tommy Kraemer of Cincinnati Elder. A 6-foot-5, 305-pound prospect rated in the 247Sports composite rankings the No. 5 offensive tackle in the 2016 class, Kraemer has been committed to Notre Dame since October 2014.
"Coach (Kerry) Coombs called me last week and was at the school last week," Kraemer said. "They have not stopped. Coach Coombs said they aren't going to stop until I sign, so I'll take it as it is and focus on Notre Dame."
That doesn't sound too promising for Ohio State, but Kraemer is worth fighting for. He's that good.
That doesn't sound too promising, indeed. But hey, you never know: There's like a 49% chance Brian Kelly gets fired after a five-loss season.
If a teen can look at Ohio State and say, "I don't want a part of that," then I can do nothing but tip my cap. Ohio State rolls on without them.
