OH CB/ATH Kyle McCarthy (Notre Dame signee)

BSB Premium

Coaches Minter and Lewis from ND visited him and told him they will know by the end of the week whether or not ND will offer. He is going to visit NW, who just offered, on Wednesday and then head to ND for the weekend. He plans to decide after this weekend, provided ND has even offered by that point.

It depends on where his priorities are. If he wants to play right away along with getting a world-class education, then Northwestern is the place to go. If he wants to play for a perennial conference contender and a team that will challenge for the national title every other year, along with getting a very good education (and having the best visibility for the NFL draft), then Ohio State is his only choice.

Gonna be a battle between Weis and JT...I think Kyle could probably see himself at either school. Tough decision between the state school and his childhood favorite.

[Appears as though ND has offered.............[/QUOTE]ND is his childhood favorite, but it took them a while to offer (we offered first). I think Tressel still has his an in-home visit to work some magic. Oh yeah, Weiss may have the Superbowl keeping him busy.

theres no way kyle is only 6'0 if wilson 6'6, kyle looks 6'3, possible wideout?, i know we are recruiting him at corner, but theres no way hes slow, so another case of a jt athlete?

Mccarthy is in the foreground a bit more, and wilson has his head tilted a bit, so that can be deceptive.

Wilson is closer to 6'4 than 6'6 for starters (not that it matters).

I'm getting conflicting reports on a ND offer, but if they offer, it's gonna be tough to beat, considering Kyle is a big ND fan, his brother either attends or attended ND, and his grandfather played baseball there. Too much going in there direction. We do have the "what's your program doing now" and the proximity factors going for us, but if ND has in fact offered, I'd say 80-20 in their favor.

Kyle can't lose in either situation though, best of luck wherever he ends up.
