That sounds encouraging. Like with Wilson, Polian is the one ND coach who scares me a little bit in this situation. He is supposedly an excellent recruiter and has done a decent job with this patchwork class of ND's. This class at ND, despite the coaching change, should be much better than last year's class.
Just thought I'd post the whole thing for everyone...

Kyle McCarthy was home from school on a snow day yesterday in Youngstown, watching a report about the New England Patriots on television when his telephone rang.
Patriots offensive coordinator Charlie Weis was the caller.
"That was pretty cool," McCarthy said.
It also was indicative of just how high his stock has risen in less than a month in the majorcollege recruiting market. The multipurpose back from Youngstown Mooney received a scholarship offer from Ohio State on Jan. 2, and since then Northwestern, Navy and Notre Dame have followed suit.
That explained why Weis called. As soon as he and the defending Super Bowl champion Patriots are done in the NFL playoffs, he will become coach at Notre Dame.
In the meantime, his staff is trying to round up prospects while he zips in occasionally by electronic means. Weis had a willing listener in McCarthy, who has made no secret of the fact he grew up as a fan of Notre Dame.
"But I will tell you this, that is going to have no impact on where I choose to play football next year," said McCarthy, who will make his official visit there this weekend.
"I’ll go there and see how I fit in with the people, the university, the coaches. Then I’ll come home and take a couple of days to think things through with my family and decide where I think I might fit in the best for the next four or five years."
He’s one of only five or six prospects still being chased by Ohio State, which has commitments from 15 players toward a class that likely won’t number more than 20 on signing day Feb. 2. "Going into this weekend I’d have to say Ohio State is probably my leader," McCarthy said. "It’s funny, all the people around town here and at my school keep saying I’m going to Notre Dame. But I really enjoyed my visit to Ohio State two weeks ago. Coach (Jim) Tressel and everybody down there are all great people."
