Official Super Bowl thread....

I am a Seahawks fan and this is how I feel about the game. First of all, I don't think the refs decided the game. Regarding BRoth's TD, the initial call of the line judge would have been the call that stood due to indisputable evidence, he just happened to choose TD. I didn't understand why he raised one hand first- signaling he was down, then a few seconds later came to the conclusion he got the ball over. I'm not that upset over that call however, some things are just too close to call.. it's the beauty of sports, sometimes it works in your favor, sometimes not. And to be honest, I'm sure they would have gone for it on 4th down & 1 inch - with Bettis and a 240 lb QB, chances are they would have broke the plane one way or another.
Another call is the delay of game that should have been called on the Steelers. BRoth called timeout about a second after the play clock expired but they honored the timeout instead of giving the 5 yd penalty.. this was on 3rd & 6 late in the game. If the right call was made it would have been 3rd & 11. After the timeout, Steelers got 7 yds on 3rd down giving them the first down as opposed to 4th & 4 and a punt. That was huge.
In the first half where Hasselbeck threw deep down the sidelines to Jackson -I wasn't sure at first but after seeing the replay numerous times, Jackson definitely got his back foot inbounds and his front foot hit the pylon = TD. That play wasn't even reviewed.
Obviously there were a few other calls but those have already been discussed.
Bad officiating aside, their were plenty of other factors responsible for the loss. IMO Alexander should have gotten more than 20 carries - between 25-30 would have been ideal. Hasselbeck throwing 49 times was too many, although he played well. Stevens didn't back up the talk and took full responsibility for his poor performance afterwards. I was too disgusted to even care about the pathetic 2 min drill at the end.
It's unfortunate that the refs had the impact they did. However, the Steelers made the plays to win the game and I'll give them some credit. Congrats to you Steeler fans.

The Steelers won, the officiating was bad.

I've been waiting to use this: :horse:

Teams that win championships can overcome bad officiating, plain and simple. Seattle had plenty of opportunities to win this game, and didn't take advantage. Again, congrats to the Steelers fans.

Neither am I. I watched the game. It was as rigged as a Tyson fight. Only blind stealer fans seem to be missing it.

So in 100% seriousness you honestly believe the NFL fixes games, correct?

You not only believe it but are also one of the very few enlightened individuals on this earth that knows about it, correct?

Then if you know they fix games why do you get pissed at the outcomes?

Do you and the in-laws sit around and get pissed when the bad guys win in pro wresteling too?

Congrats to the steelers and thier fans. I am a bengals fan. I can't wait for next year, it's been a long time since I could say that.

My brother is a HUGE steelers fan. He was overjoyed. I Didn't see one play of the game due to work though.
