Official FIFA 2010 World Cup Discussion

As a soccer supporter...there's not much I can say to defend this horse abortion of a game.

No clue what these players are thinking half the time.

I don't think I've seen a well-played game yet in this World Cup. Hopefully the US game kinda gets this bitch going. 2006 was a great one. Most of those games were awesome from what I remember.

Yeah, it's only 4 games in, but nothing special at all.

Also, I think Messi nets 2 in the next game. He's on the brink and he's a great player, but the final touches aren't going his way.

Are these English commentators really gonna be happy with a draw for England??? Sheesh. Pussies.

Yeah, that was a surprise. I'm wondering if that was more to keep the suspense going for the TV audience? I think a tie today would be a great result for the USA. A win would be over the top hilarious.

I can't imagine the average Brit would be relieved to get a draw today. They'd be pissed.

Your avatar inspired me to change my avatar... I'm trying to find a sweet US soccer picture but it's not working too good.

USA lucked out with a draw against England earning a point. A few things I want to touch on. I'm a little surprised Bradley started Findley over Buddle. Not sure what that was about. Michael Bradley in midfield I'm not a big fan of. Not sure what it was yesterday (maybe nerves or something) but he didn't look too good. However, we don't really have another GREAT midfielder to replace him. Our defense is our liability, plain and simple. Onyewu looks lost in the back half of the time. Out of position, missing his marks, just not playing well. Again we don't really have anyone else to replace him with, especially someone of his size. Howard, what can you say, he got us this point. Stellar keeper, and he's going to take us as far as possible in the cup with his ability.

Watching this Algeria/Slovania game, we should get out of the group, but if our defense gets picked apart like they did yesterday, hanging Howard out to dry, it's going to be a quick exit in the knockout rounds.

Don't hold your breaths guys. If FIFA were to advance the notion, the South African government would tell them to forget it. If they pursued it aggressively with a rule change, then Blatter, and his son, wouldn't like that outcome (see this link).

The South African government already have told Mr Blatter to take a hike on a few occasions. Blatter is going to ride out of town quietly on his little horse blowing his vuvuzela as he departs.
