A few jokes told in 'silly season'

With six weeks to go before new Commissioner Roger Goodell announces the first players taken in the NFL draft, "the silly season" officially is under way.
Browns General Manager Phil Savage uses the phrase to refer to the rumors, misinformation and disinformation that are floated in the media to mask or possibly influence the intentions of teams at the top of the draft order.
With the No. 3 pick of the April 28 draft, the Browns are in the thick of national conjecture about how the beginning of Round One will unfold.The latest speculation on the national level has the Browns falling out of love with Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson and in love with the idea of selecting a quarterback, with LSU's JaMarcus Russell being their top choice and Notre Dame's Brady Quinn second.
