Official Cleveland Browns Draft Thread

I would take either of those deals in a heartbeat... and I think Savage would too, which is why -- to me -- it's still all rumor until everything is in. Of course, the Falcolns and Texans would be smart to wait until the 3rd pick is on the clock to make that move so they know their guy is still on the board. A lot can happen between now and then.

that is a great point skidoo, now that the Lions have made that trade to get bell and foster to add to their OL, they could go after CJ.

I should think the Lions are done going after big time WRs in the first round. Then again, the Lions never fail to amuse me.

Would normally agree with you there, but CJ is a huge talent and putting him on the opposite side of Williams would be sick, even someone like Kitna could be productive with two guys like that to throw to. But there is thought that the reason they traded for an OL is so they could look elsewhere at the 2 pick other than Thomas. But you are right, all reasoning goes out the Window when the Lions make their pick.

Detroit and Cleveland both for me... still, it makes sense for both teams to wait until the Browns are on the clock. It not only ensures they're guaranteed their guy -- but maybe even prevents a bidding war since they're actually looking for different guys. In fact, if I was Houston and wanted AP that bad, I'd probably be talking to Tampa too. If Atlant were to trade up to 3 and takes CJ, Houston could trade up to 4 and take AP.
But I wouldn't put it past Oakland or Detroit to go in a completely opposite direction than we all think.

All this being said, for the sake of CJ, I hope he doesn't get drafted in Atlanta. Heck, I'd feel bad for the kid. I wouldn't want Vick pissing my receiving career in the NFL down the drain.

If any WR can handle it, it's CJ. I think he should be used to having a junk QB at this point  ... and it's not like the situation is tons better in Tampa. (Garcia could be good right now, but he's not going to be around for much long.)

As critical as I've been of Vick. Having a guy like CJ, that can get his numbers despite having Reggie Ball throwing to you, would be great for Atlanta.

Plus the fact that I am all for a trade of this type. I am really rooting for this to go down.

Lewis signing says a lot about the Browns draft intentions... 'interest' in Quinn is a smokescreen... to entice teams wanting Quinn to make a better offer... neither Quinn nor Russell would make any difference on the existing team... they'd be slaughtered just like Frye... at least Frye is mobile... notice Quinn refuses to participate in agility drills...

they have their eyes completely focused on Thomas... if they don't get him, they trade down... draft picks and experienced players (most likely DE, LB and/or DB...

A rookie QB does nothing to help NOW... Browns don't have years to wait for respectability.. the clock is ticking... they need a line... now... They can't rebuild every year... They need to keep Browns fans interested... and that requires a team at LEAST in the middle of the pack...

A.P. is not a future hall of fame... without a line... the Lewis signing makes this look remote...

it's Joe Thomas.. or trade down...

What do ya say...50,000 sound about right?

I take AP, you take Thomas.
I would get in on that bet and say that we take Quinn, but even if I win, I actually lose. :wink2:
