Official Cleveland Browns Draft Thread

I was just reading an article on SI.COM about the Detroit trade for Tatum Bell and George Foster from Denver. The guy who wrote the article says that he believes that since making this trade, this could shake up the top of the draft. Now that Detroit has Foster they may look to either Calvin Johnson or Brady Quinn in the draft instead of Joe Thomas. Which would be great news for the Browns because that means he would be available at their pick #3. I was not sold on Thomas a few weeks back, but I am beginning to like him more and more. I like Peterson too, so this is a tough call for me personally. If I were making that pick, it would be hard for me to pass on Thomas.

who knows if cleveland is sold on thomas however.

cleveland could parlay this into something beneficial if they make zona think they want thomas. zona and cleveland flop picks, cleveland picks up an extra pick, and they still get peterson at #5.

Holy shit! As an avid spectator of angry mobs, I'd love to see Millen pick another WR in the first round.

Rumors floating that the Falcons are talking to the Browns about acquiring Cleveland's #3 pick. Cleveland is thought to be asking for QB Matt Schaub, the Falcons 1st rounder this year (#10) and next year's first rounder. Falcons really want Calvin Johnson, but I can't imagine they pay that price......

Would be VERY interesting if it did happen (and a steal for the Browns), but I can't see them paying that price either.

:yow1: That seems too good to be true... I think I'll go with rumor for now.

More than rumor apparently....

Falcons and Texans jockeying for Browns' pick

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that both the Atlanta Falcons and Houston Texans are interested in the Browns third overall draft choice. The Falcons want Calvin Johnson and the Texans are after Adrian Peterson.

Apparently, the Browns would want Matt Schaub, the 10th pick overall, and a first rounder in 2008 from the Falcons. The Texans have Carr, the 8th pick overall, and additional picks to offer.
