Official 2008 Stanley Cup Playoffs Discussion Thread

So torn... as a Ducks fan, we're done, so do I root for the sharks, who are in our division and i hate in the regular season, to win so they can bring the cup back to Cali... or do I hope they lose to the team that knocked us out? Where the hell is that meteor when I need it?

Nah, got to root for Modano. Great player for a lot of years. Besides this was the girl he was dating....

Umberger scored probably the 2nd best goal I've seen this year right there (right behind Zetterburg's)....

But then Philly (or I guess Dallas) got screwed when Kovalev had the puck hit his skate.

either they are wrong in Montreal or they were wrong in San Jose.....

Very glad we finished out the series today. Jagr played a great series for the rangers. The Hossa trade was worth it for this game :) Bring on Philly, that should be a blood-bath as both teams do not like each other.

That overtime goal by Hossa had myself and the two guys I was watching the game with going crazy. But, I just want to point Malkin's goal. It was probably one of the best goals I have seen this playoff series. The way he maneuvered in between two defenders, had to turn around, and backhanded it high on the stick side was just incredible.

And now, a rivalry conference finals.

Didn't think that game was ever going to end. I kind of feel bad for Nabokov, he had 53 saves and allowed two goals in what was the equivalent of two games and half a period. But he got a loss.

Brian Campbell was on the ice for over 53 minutes..

I was tempted to turn on the marathon game, but my roommate was sleeping and I needed to get sleep myself because of a History test and Philosophy test I have today.

Western Conference Finals start Thursday with Detroit vs. Dallas. Eastern Conference Finals start Friday with Pittsburgh vs. Philadelphia. I'm thinking Dallas will be able to pull it off in 6-7 games, and I chose Pittsburgh in 6 on the vBet.

The best possible series for the NHL is still alive - that being a Pittsburgh Detroit final although Philly Detroit wouldn't be horrible either....

I think if Detroit shows up like they did against Colorado the WCF won't be nearly as competitive as people think it will be.
