After reflection, losing Hartline would suck, but they can get a quality NFL caliber WR coach to fill in. The recruiting on the other hand. That will sting.

The more pressing concern for the Buckeye's is for them to figure out the play calling issues. Literally they have 4 OC's (along with Alford and Hartline) and nobody can make that offense look like it was in sync. Doesn't jive.

If they figure out the offense production issues it will work itself out, even if we lose Hartline.

Because if there is anything NFL WR coaches are good at, it’s recruiting and developing talent?

It likely means no to Cincinnati but leaves to door open for something that may come later he is interested in. It doesn't mean it will come just he doesn't close the door fully just in case
I think he will wait to see if Day gets ran out of town after next season. Harrison, Egbuka and the guys he knows well will be gone except Ballard. If something happens next year and Day remains the HC and more offers come in at better places, he might just go and take the 5 Star WR's he's recruited with him. That will be a fucking problem. Dont think for a second that Hartline doesn't remember very vividly his michigan weeks and this past two season is likely pissing him tf off more than the rest of that staff.

If Day can pull out the win next year he will stick around.

With that I think Hartline will be named offensive coordinator within the next 2 years. Kevin Wilson also wants to head coach again, and I can’t imagine he will stick around much longer.

If Day loses next year I think he leaves on his own. I think we go hard after fickell, and Hartline gets the OC gig.

So I’m really all in on Hartline as OC. He needs at least 3 years as OC before being ready as a HC.
