Austin Ward also reported that Hartline is in initial phone interview with UC. And he’s basically among a number of other names. So it's not happening? Cause their reputation is trash
Hartline could improve in developing depth.
Marv and EE played every snap until games were blow outs.
The played nearly 80 snaps v Michigan.
Fleming was basically in the same boat.
How we could not have another WR on the roster capable of 5 non-garbage snaps a game is bizare.
There is no way they don't get gassed at points where they could use a play off every now and then.
How engaged would they be as blockers knowing they will be running a post the next play.
How hard it would it be to go full tilt for 80 snaps knowing there is no chance for a play off.
Assuming he is also involved in the passing game I'm not sold he is a wizard in terms of scheme's.
Shouldn't we expect wr's of that quality to get open with more frequency?
It seemed we were overly dependent on Stroud throwing a dart to a well covered receiver making a catch in traffic.
No doubt he is a terrific recruiter and developer of talent (at least those on the 1st team).
There is no way He (who has never been a coordinator) should be ranked higher currently the Luke who has been a DC under Meyer, a historically successful HC at UC, and now the HC at one of the better programs in the B1G.
If Day fails one of the takeaways should that this was his first HC job.
I'd also be leery of hiring a HC whos has never been a HC and is known for WR's after our questions now.
Ryan Day's offense and QBs provide a lot of positives for coach Hartline though. The simple response to this is Dabo Swinney who was promoted from WR coach to HC with the same questions…..did he understand enough schematically?
He did a great job building an elite coaching staff and took on a more figurehead role…..which worked very well, but seems to have hit a rough patch as the recent coordinator hires aren’t going over that well.
That said, with Hartline’s recruiting and connections in football, I’d absolutely hand him the keys to a P5 program…..I’d argue he may even be more important to tOSU than Day (it’s a stretch but his WR room is a huge reason Day keeps landing elite QB’s).
If Hartline leaves, I think Day is on far less solid footing.
Yeah, regardless who’s the WR coach, Day and Dennis need to continue bringing in top QB talent, Frye needs to bring in top OL talent, and the skill position players will work themselves out.Ryan Day's offense and QBs provide a lot of positives for coach Hartline though.
Either way we'll be fine.
Besides all these 5 star WRs have won us exactly zero titles. Not saying he's to blame but certainly it's not like the WRs are winning us titles.
He’s going to interview for a reason.

Results would probably be the same. Now imagine Day trying to win titles with less than 5 star WRs.
Is that from Barton, NevadaBuck or "The Oracle"? And who did they steal the content from?So it's not happening? Cause their reputation is trash
