I was assigned to Moeller for 20 years. Non-Catholic public school guy, I would get nauseous every football season when the ND talk would hit its peak. The school was seen as a combination of Harvard, Oxford, and the Holy Ghost. Irish football was the holy grail and the shroud of Turin all rolled into one

I had Catholic priests trying to convince me that I should focus on Notre Dame. I left for public school and attended Fred Taylor’s summer program when I reached high school.

USC, Notre Dame to renew rivalry; Irish-Indiana home-and-home off​

USC and Notre Dame will renew their rivalry matchup starting in 2030 with a four-game series that will feature back-to-back season openers, the schools announced Monday.

Notre Dame's reunion with USC, however, also will coincide with the departure of defending national champion Indiana from the Fighting Irish's future schedules, sources told ESPN's Adam Rittenberg.

In 2021, Notre Dame and Indiana announced a home-and-home series with the Hoosiers opening the 2030 season at Notre Dame, the slot USC will now fill. Notre Dame was set to visit Indiana in late September 2031. But both games will not be played, at Indiana's request, a source told Rittenberg. The desire to get USC back on the schedule in early-season slots drove the shuffling, along with Indiana's philosophy toward nonconference scheduling.

Well, all that being said, would prefer to see tOSU #8 or somesuch, as being pre-season #1, means the only place to go is down. But if the pre-season losses happen to be 2 for the Buckeyes, won't be there long. Guess am wishing for a first round bye in the playoffs, and don't really care about who they face. Hopefully Day can keep the team from being complacent and arrogant.

Ohio State has never won a championship when #1 in the opening polls. Let tejas have it. We'll take it in week 2.
