Notre Dame (football only discussion)

If I'm not mistaken NW won the last two matchups...96 - 97 maybe. LB Pat Fitzgerald and their running back (Dennis Autry?) both went wild. Somebody wake up BB73, he'll know.

They won the last matchup in '95. IIRC, they became the first team to beat TSUN, ND, and Penn State in the same year ('95).

Ntre Ame won in '92, '93, and '94.

Hang in there, Chief. Even if CW falls on his sword again next year, you guys will have a ton of talent in the stable, which makes it a very attractive job for a new coach to take over. I see ND being a pretty tough football team down the road.

After the Navy debacle I can understand how no one would be too optimistic about any game. Let's face it, if UCLA hadn't had so many injuries at QB you guys would be winless. However, that did happen, so I guess CW can live on that for this year.

And as another poster pointed out, with the recruiting class coming in, if CW gets the axe next year that job will appeal to a lot of good coaches.

My Prediction?

PAIN.

Personally, I think Oklahoma losing to Texas Tech is more likely than Notre Dame beating DUKE.

I can't believe I am actually predicting Duke will WIN a football game.

I know this is a Notre Dame thread, but...

Thats hilarious.

Did anybody see the Duke game? Our team was clearly looking past Ga Tech to the Super Bowl but we didn?t actually see the game because we couldn't find it on TV. We looked on CBS and ABC while NBC showed the Air Force game. We assume there must have been some sort of broadcasting problem given our national fan base and comparable record to ND.
