Notre Dame (football only discussion)

By my count, they lose (of note) Brockington, Laws, Zbikowsi, Stephenson, and Wooden on defense and Sullivan and Carlson on offense. Where is the cause for optimism?

Looking at it from a domer view, they'll see that next year's schedule is a joke especially (and even I think this) compared to this year's schedule, which was a killer.

Should they be 1-9? With a real coach who really cares about developing players? Absolutely not. But they'd almost certainly have multiple losses with the schedule they faced.

The Ntre Ame myopians will be back in full force next year, claiming they are "back" (at least until they get smoked by Meshitagain and USC) and they'll probably end up in a higher tier bowl game where they will again be smoked by a middle of the road SEC or PAC-10 team. Just a guess.....

I like how Saturday shapes up:

THE GAME against scUM, followed by an opportunity to see Notre Dame lose to.... DUKE???

Talk about all hell possibly breaking loose.

What hell is left to break loose? They just lost back to back home games to Navy and Air Force. Only one game was close.

Go read their boards, they are singing a different tune over there. Kool aid sales are way down.

I meant to say that the joking, laughter and funny threads would quadruple if Notre Dame lost to Duke.

So many people on BuckeyePlanet enjoyed seeing ND lose to Navy. Try to imagine the possibilties of Fat Man Charlie losing to Duke.

Now THAT would be funny.

They have nine-hundred and fifty-two 11 star recruits coming in next year, and over half of them will be starting school early so they can participate in spring ball. Jimmy Clausen just won 3 heisman trophies and another group of Ty's stragglers will be vacating school. Also, Charlie Weiss is an offensive genius. What planet have you been living on?

Duke has been competitive in a lot of their games this year. I expect they will win.

Just the thought of Notre Dame losing to Duke...

If you thought it was ugly on Notre Dame's rivals board after the Navy loss, can you imagine the carnage if DUKE wins in South Bend?

The carnage may depend on how active the moderators are. Some of the worst I've seen was on the Scout Spartans' board after they choked away their game to Notre Dame in '06... the moderators were non-existent or asleep at the wheel. Things didn't get cleaned up until the next day.

Unless you start them, chances are the only Ntre Ame threads would be the existing threads.....

I was talking about the one in the garage, you know, the one I refer to as "the burnin' couch"

Let's burn this one instead?

[Northwestern]I empathize with you Irish. By the way, can we schedule you next year? We need to find another win on our schedule.[/Northwestern]

If I'm not mistaken NW won the last two matchups...96 - 97 maybe. LB Pat Fitzgerald and their running back (Dennis Autry?) both went wild. Somebody wake up BB73, he'll know.
