C'mon man, thats a pretty tasteless remark to make about the situation. I'm all for poking fun at the Ty Willingham situation when it comes the current state of the football program, but this isn't about a game. I feel lucky that I never had to go through a loss like this kid is experiencing.I blame Ty Willingham.

Looks like the team will be in attendance, even a day before a big game (At least for this season) against Navy. Good to see their priorities are in line, being there for a teammate.SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame running back Robert Hughes returned to practice Wednesday, a day after his older brother was fatally shot in his hometown of Chicago.
Police say 24-year-old Earl "Tony" Hughes was shot early Tuesday on Chicago's West Side.
Coach Charlie Weis said Robert Hughes, a freshman, returned to Notre Dame so quickly because he didn't want to fall behind academically and because he thought being back at school would help him.
Hughes was not available for comment.
Weis planned to meet with Hughes' family Thursday.
Notre Dame team members plan to attend the funeral service Friday.
ND expects to sell out last two games
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) -- Notre Dame isn't worried it won't sell out its final two home football games, ending a streak of 197 sold-out games, even though Air Force and Duke have returned several hundred tickets.
"I don't think there's any sense the game isn't still going to be sold out, in great part because there's always a lot of traffic on game days," said John Heisler, Notre Dame's senior associate athletic director. "Nobody is concerned about it here."

Staying home and whacking off on the internet would be more satisfying than anything Charlie Weis produces on the field.OCBucksFan;986615; said:I will be surprised if they don't sell out to be honest, not because of the quality of the sport but if you live in South Bend what the hell else is there to do on a Saturday?

Weis indicated after Notre Dame lost to Navy to fall to 1-8 that Sharpley would likely start again against Air Force. But after reviewing game film Sunday, Weis said he was undecided. On Tuesday he said whoever looked better at practice this week would start.

I don?t hate the program either, I don?t pay much attention to them, I?d actually prefer they became irrelevant than bounced back. Thinking about it, it probably hurts domers more when people don?t care about them than if we were to hate them, it is representative of how far they?ve fallen. I don?t mind them doing poorly though, I don?t like the thought of them becoming irrelevant because I hate them, but for the hope that it might help other Big Ten schools. I know that Notre Dame takes kids from all over, all national powers do to some degree, but Notre Dame is in Big Ten country and they take a lot of kids from Big Ten states. I like to see Ohio State win the conference, I like to see Ohio State go undefeated, but I like the Big Ten and I don?t like to see Big Ten schools absolutely suck when their state produces talent.OCBucksFan;970528; said:Honestly, I don't really have a huge problem with the program. I am one of those people who thinks when they are good, it's better, I like rooting against them, and to be honest, it's really not that much fun this year. I have a long line of family who are tOSU alumni, and then my brother goes and roots for ND? The family is laughing at him, I am laughing at him. I remember living in OH and having to see the ND game on Saturday, then it replayed on Sunday just to remind us, and it felt like it was rammed down our throats.
My brother has no such memories.
Back to the point, when they are good, they are the perfect "bad guy" but they havn't been for a long time. It's gotten to the point where it's pathetic for their fans to have the arrogance they have. People say "they are college footballs version of the yankees/lakers/cowboys" but the difference I see is they have been down for 15 years, those other teams, even though they are professional, have not been. So there's a reason for those fans of the professional team to cheer, when the hell does ND fan actually sit back and go "shit, we need to change some things" instead of "we're independant so we can schedule who we want."
Here's a dose of reality for Notre Dame fans, everyone wants you on their schedule, you know why? You suck and everyone wants a piece of you. Don't feed me that academic standards crap because that's not your problem, your problem is your unrealistic coaching expecations.
