Notre Dame (football only discussion)

I'll bet every Vbuck I have(and a lot of real ones) they don't go 10-2. No way in hell. Better chance of not losing inventory if Charlie Wiess gets locked in your Dunkin Donughts store overnight.

They are not only going to lose to PSU, it could get ugly. All new offense going into Happy Valley in week 2 against that D? Then @ tsun to follow it? As my Italian friends say fuggedaboudit. PSU could be a bit weak in the trenches this year but ND won't be able to exploit it even if they are.

They will start 1-2 AT BEST, GT and MSU are huge games for ND. A Bowl appearance could very well hang in the balance. They have to at least split the GT, MSU, BC, Purdue games to go with 4 W's from the November cupcake fest.

  • They are even worse than I thought. I can understand them being young but my god. They werent even competative, they have no line play on either side of the ball. The QB gaggle makes Henne look like Peyton Manning.
  • As bad as it sounds after the egg they laid today I still think tsun can beat them. NoD seems to have found the ability to cover better but forgotten about run defense in the meantime.
  • In a game that will be played with all the ferocity of a Sigfried and Roy pillow fight, I think tsun will run Hart down NoD's throats and come away with the win...big.
  • MSU just became a big problem for them as well. PSU is going to set back the development of whatever QB the Genius runs out there. It could get very ugly.
  • "Give Charlie Wiess time to prepare and..." last 2 games ND has had more than a week to prepare: 0-2 outscored 74-17.

Looks like Charlie and the Field Goal Factory will be denting scoreboards all season long. From the look on his face in the 4th quarter today I'd say he's basically thrown in the towel on this season already. Not that I mean he's completely tanking it, just that he basically is going to use this season to sort out players, not care about the record, and then say "2007 doesn't count" when 2008 rolls around and it's time to flash those rings and have some recruit press conferences again...

4 at a minimum.

8 losses x .5 SOS "halfsies" = 4

If they play in the zip code of how they played today...0-8 for sure. The question is are they really as bad as they looked today, or will they be significantly better on one side of the ball to keep them in games. I predicted 7-5 earlier, which means I had them at 3-5 in those games...I'd say right now, Michigan State could still be streaky, Purdue is unpredictable, and well, the Michigan defense couldn't stop LLLLLI-AAoyd Carr from taking a dump with a cork and superglue, so I'd say it's possible they could still win 3 of those...most likely 1 or maybe 2 at most.

I'd say they have a shot at MSU and Purdon't, other than that, fagataboutit. ND's performance yesterday was the worst I saw all day, absolute horse shit. App. State would have beat them by 40. I know this is overused but... THEY SUCK!!!!!!!!!!

By the way..... Deety is HOT HOT HOT......

Looks like he better get used to it. Welcome to South Bend, Jimmy Boy.

No, see, he didn't start the game, so Jesus H. Clausen (AKA Overthrow Jesus) is still undefeated. In fact, I'm sure Weis will start Sharpley or Jones and play them the first 2 plays of every game over the next 3 years, so that whenever the Irish lose Jimmy boy won't get credit for "losing a start"...so, even if ND goes 4-26 over their next 30, Overthrow Jesus can preserve his undefeated streak and go down as the winningest QB ever.

Notre Dame is an OH-fer

Don't really care if the Domers go 0-8, just so they go OH for the Big Ten. We'll see how much 'lightening' that Cheeseburger Charlie is willing to take for his team. He's making a mint, so he'd better be prepared to take a lot!

How in the world does Charlie Weis, a quarterback guru, come out in the opening game and run the ball as much as a high school team? I would expect Sharpley to start against Penn State. When Claussen is healthy and can throw the ball more than 25 yards, expect him to start and you can talk about his performance then. Until then, we have nothing to go by.
