Notre Dame (football only discussion)

I think the Penn State game is a toss-up, and probably, along with the Georgia Tech game, determines their whole season. If by some miracle they manage to start 2-0 and get on a roll, I (unfortunately) think Notre Dame can win 10...no way that they can win at Michigan or beat USC with the players they have, but if they develop a lot of early confidence they could go as high as 10-2. If they split the first two, in either combination, I see it as somewhere between 8-4 and 6-6...at Purdue, UCLA, Michigan State, BC...those are games they can win, but they won't win them all if they're not on a big roll. If they start 0-2, they're meat...6-6 is all they can hope for, probably 5-7. Once they hit November they're 4-0 from then on, so it's all up to those 6 tweener games.

I say they split the first 2 games and finish 7-5.

Makes a lot of sense to me. I think that the chances of 10-2 are pretty slim though. 8-4 or 7-5, oh yeah, and a BCS bowl because they will almost win two of those.

HIGH-END UNDERACHIEVERS

Notre Dame -- The only school on the list to have won a national championship during the period in question. But that was 1988, and since '93 the Fighting Irish have been awfully ordinary. When it's been 14 years since your last bowl win, you're nothing special.
nothing we don't already know, but it's nice to see it in print--especially the final statement. forde is generally good.

Oh, what a great day for college football. We win, scUM gets owned by App St., and NoD is on the recieving end of a good old fashion, passionate ass-whupping. I'd love to be watching this game with Lou Holthzzz. 10 wins?:slappy:

Edit- GT scores AGAIN...33-3.

And the craptastic 3-headed QB monster...you know, Huey, Duey, and Freshman Needledick...with the game for the ages today. That's a great offense if the idea is to get the QB killed and not run the ball anywhere. Anyone thing ND scores more TDs than games played before November? Wait, they play Michigan, so they might get 4 there...

I think they will get 3 losses, either Penn State or Michigan State in addition to the USC and Michigan Losses. UCLA will choke and Ga Tech will be close.

Works for me. 1000 says they lose 3 or less.

that sounds like a good idea,..

That has to hurt.

You know what this means... It means Clausen's prediction of 4 National Championships will not become reality. It will only be possible for 3.

This is the first game Clausen has lost. He has never lost a football game until today.

ND's OL looked like one of the worst I have ever seen, they didn't even try to block blitzers...I think most of the players are returning starters too

Looks like they're running out of talent as Willingham's players graduate :)
