Notre Dame (football only discussion)

Who else would you have #1?

I personally have no problem with it.

I'd look for someone like the Lions to snag him at 1 or 2 if they get the chance.

It's not that he is #1 thats funny -- it's Mel's commentary that follows.
But, if I was an NFL scout -- which I'm definitely not -- I think I'd take a long hard look at OL and DL first.

Since I hate the raiders as is, Quinn going to them would only make rooting against him easier :tongue2:
That's kind of why I want him in Oakland. I know the Raiders will suck for a while, so why not have fun with it and watch Mr. Overrated suck it up and ruin his NFL career?

You don't draft QBs in the NFL anymore anyways. You don't draft WRs in the first round either.....so I'm stoked that those are the 2 projections for the Raiders right now :roll2:

One need only look at the Jets to see how competitive a team can quickly become with a couple of really good OLs in round 1.

I raise you one Robert Gallery.

They're not a sure thing either.

Obviously the draft is a risk-reward thing. I think that it's been shown that gambling on an OL or DL player is a safer bet with low-reward, low-risk over the years. It doesn't always pan out, but I believe Gallery is also still contributing, even if he isn't a beast. Whereas, if you draft a QB and he busts -- you'll be screwed for years to come.

And Tony Mandarich, of course. I understand they aren't sure things either, but I'd rather trade down a sopt or 4 and take my chances developing a great OL with a solid QB than put a "great" young QB behind a crappy OL. If the QB is actually "great" how will you ever know it? Maybe David Carr could have won 5 Super Bowls by now if he played in NE. If Quinn has 0.5 seconds to throw, he's not going to win anything either.

he strikes me as an asshole, and I believe the guy from here who said he takes roids (just because I want to :p )

Kid doesn't take roids, he's been a specimen since HS.

His parents are actaully next door neighbors to a co-worker of mine and said they are an extremely nice and humble family.

The kid seems to have a good head on his shoulders as well.

I don't see any good QB's wanting to go to Oakland, maybe Detroit since it's indoors.

That's when he suposedly started roiding up. I see a lot of Charlie Weis coming out of him when he talks. That's never a good thing.
