Notre Dame (football only discussion)

So these guys get to collect $20M for themselves with the CFP payout.

$4M for making it
$4M for reaching quarterfinal
$6M for reaching semifinal
$6M for reaching final

And they’re just letting them keep it all, without a conference split. And they did it by defeating an ACC schedule + service academies. How is that fair? $20M easy! Enough for a damn good roster so I hear.

The playoff run was Indiana (solid but meh, come on), Georgia (solid but frosh QB, down overall) and a James Franklin Penn State.

I agree with Franklin earlier this week that everyone needs to be in a conference. This is ridiculous if they found an easy formula and this is the reward they get. Compensation/incentives drive behavior and they have no reason to change now.

Tired of these guys having Easy Street - while still finding a way to feel persecuted.

The problem started with letting them in the room that negotiated the playoff. They fucking had the same vote as an entire conference. It's not the 50s anymore. They're not the biggest ratings draw in cfb. They're not the largest fanbase in cfb. Hell, even the Catholic angle is a shell of what it was.

Here’s some info i found the ND Reddit page and from Bill Landis of Rivals:
Knapp became the starting LT because we lost Jagusah in the preseason. Jagusah, finally healthy, took his first snaps of the entire season against Penn State at guard (because Rocco got hurt) and looked great.

Starting center has been out since September.

Best two DEs have been out since September.

Lost a starting DT against Indiana.

Lost AA CB and first round draft pick CB months ago."
Notre Dame's offensive line situation

LT: Starter Anthonie Knapp out -- Tosh Baker played against Penn State after Knapp was injured, and I didn't think he played very well.

LG: Billy Schrauth opened the season as the starting right guard, was out for some time with an injury, and replaced Sam Pendleton at left guard when he came back

C: Pat Coogan, took over in the Notre Dame game when starter Ashton Craig was lost for the season with an ACL injury, has started every game since. He was the starting LG last year.

RG: Rocco Spindler took over here when Schrauth was injured in week 3 and has been starting since. He's been injured a few times. Missed some snaps against Indiana, and was injured in the Orange Bowl. When he went out against Indiana, Pendleton played for him. When he went out against Penn State, Charles Jagusah played for him and I thought played pretty well. Freeman said Spindler's status is TBD for the natty. If he can't play, the assumption is that Jagusah would start. But Jagusah was penciled in as a starting tackle coming into the season, I wouldn't be shocked if Jaguash moves to left tackle in place of Knapp and Pendleton plays RG.

RT: Aamil Wagner has started every game at RT and I think has played pretty well.
