Notre Dame Fighting Irish (official thread of bowl failures)

I think the OC is sensing who'll be the sacrificial lamb whose head gets piked on the campus gate at the end of the year.

I was thinking the name Tommy Rees sounded familiar and then I remembered he was a wildly mediocre QB at ND that also often failed to do his f*ing job. What's the saying, the hens have come home to roost? Nonetheless, pretty entertaining.

As he should be. Freeman has earned himself at least 3yrs, the coordinators don’t have that same luxury. Now Freeman will get to pick his own guy at seasons end, like he picked Golden as DC. If his pick at OC isn’t much better, than he will be run out of town

I'm thinking Freeman might be following the path of his mentor Fickell: a young coordinator unexpectedly thrown into a pressure packed blueblood head job amidst some turmoil in the program. He might end up being a hell of a coach like Fickell, but he wasn't prepared for this. He'll get three years and a new OC next year, but the clock on Touchdown Jesus is definitely ticking.

The clock started ticking after the OSU L, it got even louder with the L to Marshall

Under the category, Drinking the Kool-Aid, Marcus freeman has bought into "The Legend." Asked how he thought his team would do in its David versus Goliath game with Clemson, Freeman responded, "...except we're not David. We're Notre Dame." I would add that Clemson is not Goliath either, and being Notre Dame hasn't meant much except a bad case of overhyping for the last 30 years.
