Give ESPN- Around the Horn and PTI- credit for some things said about this: "Why is this story bigger than the UN-INVESTIGATED rape of a St. Mary student by two football players? And what about a coach who orders a student to go into a cherry picker in 50 MPH winds?"

"What happened and when did it happen? If they knew this was a hoax on December 26th, why did they allow Manti to continue to talk about her?"

Of course, on the same show, they managed to talk about the failure of reporters to question any of this tale way back in September without assuming any need on their own part to be a part of the investigation; even when one of the panel acknowledged that she read the story of the girlfriend's burial and noted two different locations for the same funeral.

Chicago radio is reporting that ESPN knew about the hoax ten days before the title game.

Since nothing else has done so, I suppose it is naive to hope that this would wake people up to what ESPN is

I think this will make people at least question why they didn't hear about it sooner.. anyone with common sense, anyways. Luckily the answer is easy.
