@freeneyblitz Agreed. People always buy what the media sells regardless of facts. The media will run with a story that Manti was in on it because that's the "bigger" story. Him being pranked is a story as well but not the same. "He did it to get himself exposure and win a Heisman..." I'll wait to see some racts and you know... Wait for Manti to actually speak before i cast any stones froom my glass house.

TMZ is now diving in head first: Manti Te'o Hoax: All SCAMS Lead to Ronaiah Tuiasosopo

Jan tells us Ronaiah was with a little girl during the USC meeting who they called Pookah -- and together, they explained how Lennay's sister couldn't come down to visit, so U'ilani sent them instead. Jan says Ronaiah "made it seem as if he was a member of Lennay's family."

After Jan and Ronaiah took the picture together -- Jan says Ronaiah began to act paranoid ... and told her, "Make sure you don't post this photo online."

Soon after the game, Jan says she was contacted by U'ilani ... who also urged her NOT to post the picture of Ronaiah. She didn't explain why.

...

There's more ... Jan tells TMZ Lennay's "sister" continued to reach out to her after the USC game ... and delivered some more bad news -- that little Pookah had been diagnosed with lupus and was dying in a children's hospital in Orange County, CA.

Jan said she wanted to send flowers -- so Lennay's "sister" gave her an address. TMZ has learned the address belongs to a member of the Tuiasosopo family.

Jan also gave us the phone number Lennay's sister would use to contact her -- and we found out the number is registered to a man named Titus Tuiasosopo -- Ronaiah's father.

You can thank society in general for folks having to "issue disclaimers" before giving their opinion that may in some way not be in complete lock-step with political correctness.

Lots of misery in this whole story. The one thing I'm pretty sure of, though, is that Manti Te'o is not gay. Apparently one of the things that persuaded his teammates not to participate in the whole Lennay deathfest thing is that Manti was continuing to hook up with other women during that 3+ year time frame.

This shouldn't be regarded as defending Te'o in any way. I'd be less upset about an athlete trying to avoid being "outed" than about that same athlete and his family playing a fake story for publicity and sympathy.

I'm leaning this way. I think this whole ordeal was conceived and perpetrated by Te'o and his parents to drum up publicity and it just got of hand when ND had their unexpected national title run.
