They haven't played in nearly 20 years, and they haven't played often, but the Dayton-Ohio State men's basketball series has been pretty even.
The Flyers and Buckeyes play at 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, in the NIT quarterfinals.
UD and Ohio State have played eight times with the Buckeyes holding a 5-3 edge.
The last four games between the schools were played in the 1980s:
Dec. 19, 1985 ? OSU 80, UD 73 (St. John Arena)
Dec. 16, 1986 ? UD 89, OSU 86 (UD Arena)
Dec. 19, 1987 ? UD 81, OSU 80 (St. John Arena)
Dec. 17, 1988 ? OSU 104, UD 76 (UD Arena).

1-month bet?
LitlBuck;1123997; said:This is off-topic for the game but has to do with UD/Ohio State basketball. I am just curious if one of their UD old-timers would know why Don May chose to go to UD while his teammate Bill Hosket came to Ohio State. I know then Bill's father went to Ohio State but I thought those two guys were extremely close. If May would have come to Ohio State they WOULD have won that national championship.
Not sure. I'm not even that old:) to know that. Recruiting wasn't public knowledge back in the mid-60s. All I know is that May had one sweet left-handed jump shot. It is possible that he did not come here because of Sorensen but Dave came one year later I believe. I know Hosket came here because is dad was an Ohio State alum.OSUBucks22;1124017; said:Did May even get an offer from tOSU? He was a 6-4 PF, so I don't know what opportunities he had...
Hope It's a noisy as St. Johns was, now that would be great.crazybuckfan40;1124188; said:It is going to be a full house at the schott tomorrow...

9 tonight
Where: Value City Arena
TV: ESPN2
Radio: WBNS-AM/FM (1460/97.1)
Records: Ohio State 21-13, Dayton 23-10
Matchup to watch: Similar to what Jamar Butler did for Ohio State, point guard Brian Roberts shouldered the load on offense for Dayton for much of the season. He leads the Flyers in scoring and assists, has taken 25 percent of their shots, and more than half of his shots come from outside the arc. His .455 three-point percentage ranks 15th nationally. The Buckeyes' zone defense must pay him close attention.
