Buckeyes the only #1 seed to advance to NYC. :osu:

73-58, under 2 minutes...Thad puts Hunter and Twig back in, probably so he can bring them out one last time at home.

Bring on Ole Piss.

Last year, we beat down the Bearcats and rip the hearts out of Xavier. This year, we put Dayton in their place.

Why do these teams want to play Ohio State? More importantly, what does Ohio State have to gain by playing them? We could beat each and every one about 20 times, but one loss, and all of a sudden, that team is chest-thumping like they're the kings of the state.

Little misses a runner in the lane, called for over-the-back on the rebound.

Double bonus for tOSU, Lighty makes a pair, 73-56.

Binnie feeds Wright for a jam inside, 73-58.

Butler misses a 3 with 1 minute left. Dayton scores, 73-60.

Titus and Peters some in for the final 46 seconds.

Butler gets a big ovation for his last home game.

Little misses, peters with the board. Dayton with a steal and Johnson scores, 74-62.

Wallace tries for a dunk, is fouled with 17 seconds left.

Misses a pair. Little fouled by Lauderdale with 8 seconds left. Makes 1 of 2.

The middle 20 minutes of the Cal Game and the second half tonight was the best defense OSU has played all year. Great second half by the Bucks.

Things I didn't expect:

Matta going with the small line up to start the second half (Deibs, Turner, Lighty at the same time). It really set the tone to start the second half

I was frustrated to watch Roberts miss those open jumper in the second half. He usually knocks those down.

Diebler had a great second half after riding the pine for almost the entire first half and not hitting a 3 in about 5 games.

Koufus shoots like 90% from the field.

As a UD fan:
I am excited see Chris Wright back on the floor. He made some bad decisions but he hasn't played in over two months. He just brings great energy to the team and brings confidence to everyone on the court.

As a OSU fan:
I am excited to see this team playing its best ball of the season. It is amazing to think that the team that played the last two games is the same team that lost to Iowa, Michigan, and Minnesota.

If OSU was playing Illinois State tonight there would be 6,000 empty seats. The regional game brings excitement and I think brought the best out of all the players on the court tonight. The atmosphere was "electric" as John Saudners put it.

I have never been one to say that OSU should or shouldn't schedule in state games. I do beleive that they are fun and exciting for the fans. It is a good way to generate some excitement early in the year as well instead of playing UMBC, Coppin St., American, etc.

London Warren is the worst offensive guard in the history of organized basketball

No sarcasm font needed there. Did you enjoy his triple pump, underhanded finger roll, that rammed off the backboard and traveled about 6 feet. Marcus getting that cheap 4th foul while guarding Butler 40 feet from the hoop killed UD. It forced BG to bring in Warren. I would have brought in Mickey Perry and left Roberts at the point.

I was hoping that Roberts would get some respect from the refs at some point and get some foul shots as well but it didn't happen. OSU played tough agressive defense and the refs let them bump and play physical.

Yeah, for Dayton's fans.

Right, St. John was sold out with 13,276, but OSU would not have any more people at this game :roll2:

If you had listened, you would've heard him comment on the tremendous atmosphere last time as well, against the least regional team in the tournament.

You picked a bad time to bring this angle. The players fed off of that atmosphere even more than tonight.

The atmosphere was electric the other night against Cal and what turned out to be a lameduck coach.

I'm not saying that these games aren't "exciting" for the teams Ohio State plays. For Dayton fans, this was their Super Bowl. But it's really just another game for Ohio State. Why give an in-state team a chance to upset them just so that team can gain credibility and potentially recruit against the Buckeyes in the future? It makes no sense for Ohio State.

London Warren is the most amazing player in college basketball. I don't think there's another guard in America who plays 20 minutes a game and has only shot 4 three pointers in his entire career.
