Nick Saban (ex-HC Alabama Crimson Tide)

No one (in italy):

Coach Saban: We’re not going to talk about what we’re going to accomplish. We’re going to talk about how we’re going to do it.
Saban: "There's tons of books about how to become successful, but there's hardly any talking about how to STAY successful. You see, Rome wasn't built in a day, but it was destroyed in one as soon as the Romans got complacent and stopped doing their jobs! Aite?"

So at the end of June I have my annual convention and trade show for the industry / business I'm involved in.

Guess who is our Keynote speaker for event .... Yep. Nick Saban.

I'm actually looking forward to hearing what this narcissistic prick has to say. At the end of the day you just have to tip your cap and pray he retires soon ....

trying to picture Nick squeezing Aite into a situation without spontaneously combusting afterwards from self loathing

I'd like to hear your thoughts on it.

I have to say that I found his speeches motivating and used to listen to them from time to time when I had a big project coming up. The guy has produced results, like him or not, and knows how to get things done.

My daughter met Saban and few years ago as part of a college softball team and he gave them a motivation speech discussion. She said by the end she wanted to play football for Bama and also felt it was partially her fault they had lost the Natty that last year. Like she had not done enough……LOL.
So yeah he is a good speaker. Of course she was like 19 and he is clearly one of the best ever at motivating 18-24 year olds. But regardless he knows how to get ‘‘em going.

Alabama's Nick Saban has 'no problem' with athletes being paid as employees: 'Make like the NFL'

In a quiet moment, Nick Saban asked if he had gone too far.

"You think I'm crazy for saying all this stuff?" Alabama's coach wondered after his brief media availability Tuesday at the 2023 SEC spring meetings.

Well, no, if you believe whatever is left of the collegiate model has been shredded and put in a dumpster somewhere out behind NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis. Saban was merely speaking his truth when suggesting that college football is headed toward an NFL model.
In fact, the great coach practically endorsed the idea when asked about whether players should be made employees.

"I have no problem," Saban said. "I mean, unionize it. Make like the NFL. It's going to be the same for everyone. I think that's better than what we have now."

Just sayin': Unionizing the players and paying them a salary just gives the players more money; NIL and the transfer portal aren't going away anytime soon. Recruiting and transferring will still primarily depend on playing time and/or NIL offers.

I wonder how he plans to cut guys that are unionized?

How Nick Saban and Alabama retake the SEC from Georgia

Just sayin': Interesting read; but the way UGA is recruiting the days where Alabama was the undisputed "top dog" year after year in the SEC is over.

I love how they window dressed getting their asses handed to them on: (1) a WR legally crack blocking a LB into the ground that was supposed to be the best in the country; and (2) a QB straight legally trucking a safety into the ground that was supposed to the best in the country. Those Bama educations fleshing out into the real world is fun to watch.
