I doubt anyone is leaving early on a Saturday afternoon to go study.

That being said, it's still a dick move. If I buy a ticket, I'm free to leave any god damned time I want to. This notion that the students should all stay in some worshipful embrace of him and his team (most of whom are far from nomral students and only there because of their athletic ability) is just another indication that the depth of his ego and narcissism is almost clinical.
