Nick Saban (ex-HC Alabama Crimson Tide)

This is why Alabama never, ever gets its doors blown completely fucking off by unranked 3-3 teams. Here are all the losses by Bama under Saban's tenure as head coach:

2007: 6 losses (3, 7, 7, 5, 7, 7 points)
2008: 2 losses (11, 14 points)
2009: 0 losses (national champs)
2010: 3 losses (14, 3, 1 points)
2011: 1 loss (3 points OT) (national champs)
2012: 1 loss (5 points) (national champs)
2013: 2 losses (6, 14 points)
2014: 2 losses (6, 7 points)
2015: 1 loss (6 points) (national champs)
2016: 1 loss (4 points)
2017: 1 loss (12 points) (national champs)

I see a grand total of five double-digit losses in 11 seasons (actually 11 2/3 seasons, counting his 8-0 start this season). His teams never come into a game unprepared. They may schedule some shitty OOC opponents, but they never get blown out by teams--OOC or conference opponents--that they should beat handily.

We here may think he's an ass, but his results are above reproach and his players seem to think as highly of him as our do of Meyer. Someone mentioned in another thread that he is ruthless in his staffing hirings/firings...at least he doesn't keep on dead weight because he's friends with them. Be prepared to see Alabama win 2-3 more national titles before Saban calls it quits, while we and the rest of the college football world wonder just how does he do it.

I used to say I would rather have Urban than Saban, not any more. Saban does not get his ass kicked all over the field by Iowa's or Purdues's of the world, EVER NEVER EVER.

Urban may be the second best coach, top five most certainly, but there is only one best and it is Saban.

I hear you, but didn't ol Nick lose to a mediocre Ole Miss team, and maybe an Arkansas or Miss st team he shouldn't have?

As much as I hate Saban and Bama, I admire his success and consistency. Used to be Alabama won because of it’s defense being lights out. Now they have one of the best offenses in CFB...oh and to go along with their usual defense which is scary. I don’t see any team that can play on that level. LSU defense might be able to keep them within reach but I don’t think they have the offense to be able to match them score for score through 4 quarters. Saban is probably the best coach at any level we will see in (at least my lifetime)

The only Ole Miss teams he's ever lost to were the 2014 squad that finished 9-4 and the 10-3 2015 squad. The 2014 game Bama only lost by a TD and the 2015 game Bama lost the TO battle 5-0 and still had a chance to win it in the end. He's never lost to Arkansas as far as I know and the only time he's lost to Miss State was during his first year. I also don't think Saban has lost to a team that's won less than 9 games since his first year at Bama.
