NFL Rumors (Trades/Free Agents)

If true, that's kind of baffling from the Miami front office. Why would they throw 20 mil guaranteed at Joey Porter (whose best years are arguably already behind him) to try and shore up the defense, then turn around and trade away their best defensive player for a QB that has two career starts? No offense to Schaub, I'm sure he's a great QB or else everyone wouldn't be clamoring over him, just doesn't make much sense to me.

Not going to happen.

Washington joins rebuilt Pats WR corps

Continuing the wholesale overhaul of their wide receiver corps, the New England Patriots on Monday reached a contract agreement with unrestricted free agent Kelley Washington, who played the first four seasons of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals.
And the Pats add yet another weapon for Tom Brady... Looks like the draft will be defense, defense, defense this year...

Holy Shit! That Ted Ginn picture is fantastic. I got so excited I spit out my adult beverage.

Boy, how great would that be? And then we could draft Troy Smith in the second round second pick to keep the combination together. I assume you made that Ted Ginn pic? If so do one for Troy too and pm it to me if you have time!

When healthy and given the chance he can be... He brings the size dimension to the Pats WR corps, something that they haven't had in awhile... That's why I think he'll be a weapon...

He's definitely got talent. To a certain extent, I almost wish the Bengals had kept him and sent Henry packing. Washington ended up buried behind Johnson, Houshmandzadeh, and Henry and then was dinged up most of last season.

Fair warning: be prepared for ridiculously silly on-field celebrations after each catch, particularly first down catches. :smash:

Belechick will turn each of the WR's they have signed into something that they weren't with their last team. Sure Donte Stallworth is a #1 WR and he knows what hes doing, but with Welker, Belechick and the offensive coordinators can turn him into a deep threat, along with Washington. Never have doubt in Belechick.
