@AuTX Buckeye With Carter being a Safety and JK being a CB, do you see that Carter would be taking snaps from JK?

Brought in a safety, need some cb depth
He’s played safety but was listed as a DB by the services… its the only thing that makes sense is that for a redshirt freshman with plenty of playing time ahead to leave… if its not this guy it might be another…

IMO safety was the bigger need anyways. The majority of the big plays occurred because of poor execution by our safeties.

Yes Brown had the one play vs Michigan and Penn State but otherwise the corners were okay. They just didn't make contested plays. The safety play however was brutal the last 3 games of the year.

No idea how good this young man is but from his size he's more of a cover guy. Much needed depth and experience.

I agree that S help is needed, but so is CB help. Burke looked average to bad all season. Hancock looked like a lost freshman because it was only his first year playing. Johnson is leaving and looked the same. And Brown looked like a lost freshman, because he was indeed that. That was the 2022 CB play. OSU needs help there, and they need it bad. At least1-2 CBs, and still hope that Turner can produce.

@AuTX Buckeye , Birm said that Carter is a more athletic version of McAllister. So that sounds promising

What may need to be paid attention to, is how OSU looks at OT in the Portal. I think they hit the Portal for OT if they need a starter. But if they don’t pursue One, I think Frye has confidence in either Zen or Fitzpatrick at one of the OT positions opposite Fryar(I’m assuming he takes one side). Fitzpatrick hasn’t been talked about much, but he had a heck of a spring and spring game. And had to sit and learn and earn his lumps. Let’s not forgot how big of a win he was to land out of CO

Well I'm sure some will freak out but I would imagine we'll address things after Spring ball. I'm not seeing a ton in there at Corner or at OT.

There’s a lot more in there than most fans would otherwise know…..it’s really incumbent on schools to now essentially have a talent scout watching these smaller programs for this exact reason.

Secondarily, we’d be remiss to not think there is back-channeling going on with players not in portal currently. Even Emeka talked about large NIL offers from other programs if he were to leave OSU and become a #1 WR instead of essentially being the #2 behind MH Jr.

It happens all over…..that’s to say their could certainly be players in play we have no idea about currently.

Yeah I suppose so. Only issue is we are in need of starters at OT and Corner specifically. Not sure if smaller program guys can offer that.
