Next Generation Console News: Xbox One, PS4, Wii U

There are a few rumors/articles being released that point to MS carefully thinking about reworking the clock speed of their processor and bumping up the RAM. Most are saying the clock speed bump is a very possible move on their part and saying the RAM is possible but harder to believe due to cost and price point. The rumor is a jump from the current 8 to 12. Not the type of RAM though.
You be the judge.

Yeah, I read the same thing somewhere else as well. Probably extremetech. After the fiasco that was the M$ E3 presentation, they need *something* to give them some positive publicity. Won't be surprised if they do that.

And I'll be surprised if Sony doesn't match blow for blow as well.

Can't remember if we talked about it earlier in this thread, but curious to see what happens with 360 online/live play. How long is it going to stick around for? Will it continue to preform as it does now? Updates?

I heard they are outsourcing the the Live servers to EA.

This is a good article basically stating what was always thought; that both systems will be extremely similar in proformance. It breaks down how much RAM each system uses to run their OS and preform all system tasks vs the actual available RAM for gaming tasks. Nothing overly technical but informative and done by CNet who can cut through the Fan Boy crap. Summary, if ur in love with either system then get it. Their really is no "power/speed/performance" benefit from either.

After reading this I wold love for the over clock and RAM rumors to be true. I know both companies would follow suit and would love to see the games made possible by it in two or three years. Just wishful thinking.

My son (who has turned into an Xbox freak) bitches and moans about the controllers and how they run through batteries like crazy. I can see the $60 tag IF they are bluetooth and fully rechargeable.

Rechargeable batteries FTW!

I agree with $60 Bluetooth/Fully rechargeable

only problem with the article is they conveniently left out that PS4 controllers are $60 as well

I'm pretty sure new 360 controllers were $60 when they first came out as well

Yep, but their controllers also have a rechargeable battery..granted it's built in so if that goes bad I guess you are screwed.

What was the last console to come with two controllers?

It's also across the room. Much easier to keep a spare set of batteries in the drawer or nearby.
