If he stays he'll play baseball (Erstad will definitely play him) and he won't be able to re-enter the MLB draft for three years.

That's why I don't think he'll stay. Well - that and $7 million dollars.

Well, I'd love to see him stay....at least if he stays, he'll learn one thing frim his baseball coach....

Good thing you guys aren't still in the Big XII. (and if he still owned the Rangers) Then texas Alum Tom Hicks would have trade for the rights to the kid and thrown him all the cash he wanted to stick him in the minors forever (Or until the Yankees sigend A-Rod and never needed a 3B forever). At Ohio State, we call this the "Drew Henson Experiment"

Not really football related, unless Husker fans are looking to go to Iowa or NW'ern games.

Megabus adds service to Omaha.

I've used it to get to games cheaply. From Chicago, it's possible to connect to numerous other cities.

I've had friends use that-- but buy as early as you can.

In NYC we have the Chinatown bus, which connects to the Chinatowns in DC and Boston, etc.. $15 and no frills.

I guess most Big Ten schools don't have Chinatowns though. . .

Yep on buying early. Megabus has tiered pricing. The first ticket sold for each busload is $1. When I was posting the link earlier, the $1 ticket was available for a red-eye bus from Chicago-to-Omaha on the Friday night in October before the tOSU game in Lincoln, and there was also a $1 return for a Sunday night red-eye from Omaha--to-Chicago. Those were gone quickly, but the next ticket was $3.00 for each bus.

Tough break for a rookie....

http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/giants/royally_unlucky_jSXa4i1yXvu0rTQnHUhLoI

The last first-round pick to sign, Giants rookie cornerback Prince Amukamara had been in camp all of one day before he broke his left foot. Signed Friday, hurt Saturday, on crutches Sunday, probably cringing about Monday.

With an injury that's likely to keep him out 8-to-10 weeks, Amukamara is not exactly off to a professional start that's the stuff of Hollywood scripts, but he insisted the injury had nothing to do with his delayed signing.

"Definitely a fluke thing. I checked out good in my physical so it was just one of those things that just happened," said Amukamara, supported by metal crutches yesterday at the Giants' training facility. "I've never broken a bone in my body and I never had surgery before so it's definitely a little adversity I have to deal with."

Yeah, you know how the NY media is. I'm sure they'll be calling him a bust already.

It's going to be interesting to see how many more injuries come down because of the lockout. I know I saw that LeMichael LeShare (spelled it wrong I'm sure) is gone for the season already.

People viewing Nebraska to win the first Big Ten Championship game seem to be ignoring a basic weakness in the Nebraska offense. Martinez didn't hold up under the grueling grind of a running QB. Much like Denard Robinson, he looked like a world beater against teams until the injuries and better defenses, caught up to him. Then Nebraska started losing. Now, with Starling out of the picture they are very thin at QB. And his passing ability is worse than Robinson's.
If they keep running him they will not win the Big. Even if their defense is world's better than scUM's.

They play in the weaker of the two divisions. They could run the table in their division and get into the championship game. At that point, they would only need him to be healthy for one game. Agree that he will have to watch himself in games against tOSU, State Penn and Wisky though.

That last sentence is the reason Nebraska is being picked to win their division. Their defense is not even close to being a scUM level defense. It is a TOP level defense. That alone should win them alot of games in the Big Ten, as long as their offense can get to 20+ points they should win most of their games.

Weaker of the two conferences? That can be up for debate as the only pushover is Minnesota. While there isn't another elite team, they have all the 2nd tier teams that should have good seasons this year, Michigan St, Northwestern & Iowa. While our division has Wisconsin, besides them and Ohio St, who else do you fear? Throw in the perception that Ohio State might struggle, the Leaders division is viewed by some as a one team division, where really we are a two team division.

Regardless of which division is stronger, Nebraska plays everybody except Illinois, Indiana, and Purdue this year. The B1G didn't do them any favors in the area of scheduling as a welcoming gift.
