Pretty much. I mean, he's got a buyout and who the ferk is going to want that job right now?
At least give him a year to see what out he can do without the Adrian Martinez-sized anvil strapped to his ass. Of course, he's gone 4 years and has apparently been unable to recruit over Martinez, so who the hell knows.

2019: Sophomore
2020: Junior
2021: Senior
2022: Mulligan for the COVID year.
They did have a different quarterback named Taylor Martinez (2009-2013) though.

Offensive coordinator/wide receivers Coach Matt Lubick, Offensive Line Coach/Run Game Coordinator Greg Austin, Running Backs Coach Ryan Held and Quarterbacks Coach Mario Verduzco are no longer with the program.
“I appreciate the work and sacrifices these men have made for the University of Nebraska and this football program and wish all of them well,” Frost said. “They are all men of outstanding character and good coaches, but as we strive for better consistency and execution, we needed fresh ideas and voices on our offensive staff.”

Is it me, or is there a conspicuous absence in that list of the special teams coach? Seems to me like being in games late and having no success putting the ball through the uprights might be top of mind, no?

Lubick has been at Nebraska since the 2020 season, filling the role left by former offensive coordinator Troy Walters. Before that, he was the co-offensive coordinator and receivers coach at Washington from 2017-2018. He was at Oregon from 2013-2016 and at Duke as the receivers coach from 2010-2012.
Austin, who was an o-lineman for Nebraska from 2003-2007, has coached the Husker o-line since 2018 when he came to Lincoln with Frost from Central Florida. Prior to his time in Orlando, he was an assistant o-line coach for the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles from 2013-2015. From 2010-2012, Austin was a graduate assistant at Oregon.
Held, who was a quarterback and receiver for Nebraska from 1993-1996, followed Frost to Nebraska in 2018 and coached running backs at UCF from 2016-2017. Prior to UCF, he was the head coach of Northeast Oklahoma A&M from 2014-2015 and Highland Community College from 2014-2015. In 2011, he was the offensive coordinator at Butler Community College.
Verduzco has coached quarterbacks at Nebraska since 2018 and held the same position at UCF from 2016-2017. Before his time in Orlando, Verduzco was the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Northern Iowa from 2006-2014.
Nebraska’s offense this season ranks 24th nationally in yards per play (6.57) and 19th in yards per game (458), but has struggled to consistently turn those yards into points. The Huskers rank 66th in points per play (.357) and 107th in yards per point (16.9). The red-zone scoring rate, 77.3%, ranks 105th. Nebraska has failed to reach 30 points––nearly average for a college offense––in seven games this season, all losses, and in 12 of 18 games dating to the start of the 2020 season.
When Frost was hired at Nebraska, he brought a number of assistant coaches with him from UCF. Frost released a statement as the time on the decision to bring his full staff with him from Orlando to Lincoln.
“This is an outstanding group of coaches and men of tremendous character who have played a key role in our success at UCF the past two seasons,” Frost said in 2017. “They are excellent teachers, mentors and recruiters and have earned great respect from the young men who play for them. I am proud they have chosen to join our staff as we get started at Nebraska.”

Just sayin': It's amazing how fact a guy can go from outstanding coach, tremendous character, played a key role in our success at UCF, excellent teacher, excellent mentor, and excellent recruiter to unemployed....

If he's back for a fifth year...oofta. If Frost wants any chance at making it past next season, he'd take the kid aside and say "look, we're going in a different direction, but feel free to transfer anywhere in the B1G West or to _ichigan!"
