Nebraska LB JoJo Domann's college career ends after surgery

Linebacker JoJo Domann, one of the top tacklers in Nebraska history, announced Thursday that his career with the Cornhuskers is over following surgery on his left hand.

Domann, who made the announcement on his podcast, said he injured a finger early in the Oct. 30 game against Purdue.

The sixth-year senior from Colorado Springs, Colorado, played one of his best games last week against Ohio State. He made nine tackles, intercepted a pass and broke up two others.

Nebraska recently restructured head football coach Scott Frost’s contract which solidifies the Huskers' plan for him to remain at the helm for the 2022 season, but on a reduced salary. Further details were released Friday upon public request, according to Husker247.

It confirmed that Frost is moving down in salary for 2022, dropping to a base of $4 million compared to the originally-agreed-upon $5 million. His buyout number went from around $15 million for next to $7.5 million as of Oct. 1, 2022, halving the amount of money that the university would owe him were it to terminate his contract.

Those are not exactly new details, as those leaked when it was first confirmed that Frost’s contract was restructured. However, the contract does stipulate that he can start earning $5 million per year starting in 2023 "in the event Coach Frost performs as head coach for the program for the 2022 season and the program achieves metrics mutually agreed to by the parties." Those stipulations were not specified. If Frost meets them, though, his contract — which currently runs through 2026 — will be extended by one year.

What in the fuck? Dude needs surgery, but holds it off to do a Dick Butkus impression real quick against us before retiring? It would be cool if "playing Ohio State" stopped giving people super powers.

What's Nebr record if they played Cincy schedule?

The same, all 1 score losses. 8D

Maybe they aren't 1) targeting the right players in their recruitment process that best fits their system and/or 2) developing and/or utilizing the players that they have to their maximum potential. If that's the case, Frost should take a serious look at who he has as his assistants and take the appropriate action.

At that level, recruiting isn't a game changer. Especially with the portal these days.
Anyone that can develop and keep a team together for 4 years will find success in the B1G West.
Their inability to finish in the 4th quarter is also indicative of that.
As much as I like Frost, it seems to me that this is on his coaching.

If he's back for a fifth year...oofta. If Frost wants any chance at making it past next season, he'd take the kid aside and say "look, we're going in a different direction, but feel free to transfer anywhere in the B1G West or to _ichigan!"

Don't tease me like that!
