Former Husker Adam Carriker calls out former NU coach for texting current players, undermining Riley's staff
The rumor mill has been churning the last few weeks that former coaches, specifically those on Bo Pelini's staff, have been texting and communicating with current Nebraska football players, undermining the current coaching staff.
No substantial evidence has been found of this yet, but former Husker Adam Carriker called out former defensive line coach Rick Kaczenski in a
Facebook post on Sunday, saying Kaczenski is, "texting current players, trying to undermine the new coaching staff and messing with the psyche of young college kids."
"I’m not even going to say how glad I am that he doesn’t work here anymore," Carriker, who played at Nebraska from 2003 to 2006, went onto say. "I’m not going to express how unfortunate it is that a person who conducts himself like that, was ever involved with the football program to begin with. I won’t even touch on how I consider what he’s done to just be pathetic. No, I won’t say any of those things. Instead I’ll just simply say, get a life, and what in the blue hell is wrong with you?!"
Kaczenski joined Pelini's staff in 2012 after coming from Iowa.
Carriker's post was included in what Carriker calls the "Carriker Chronicles," where he talks about the state of the Nebraska football program.
This isn't the first time accusations of former coaches reaching out to current players has come about. Early last week on an Omaha Radio show "Unsportsmanlike Conduct," Co-host Josh Peterson said he had it on good authority that former coaches were trying to undercut Mike Riley and his staff.
"I talked to somebody [who knows] what's happening with the Nebraska football program. He has been right more often than he has been wrong,” Peterson said. “I asked him what was happening and he told me that, and this is allegedly happening...that [former] coaches are reaching out to players and not vice versa.”
