Game Thread Nebraska at tOSU, Sat. Oct. 26, 12pm ET, FOX

OK, I just got home. They played the the replay of the targeting call several times from a couple different angles and it sure didn't look like targeting to me. I prefer to not have to go through 90 pages in this thread to see how any discussion on the call went. I'd just like to know what the FOX commentators said about the targeting call, i.e. good call or bad call?
Bad call.

Day told the sideline reporter coming back at halftime that they needed to run the ball and I knew things weren't going to be great. I didn't figure it'd be as bad as that 3rd quarter was, but I don't want to hear how we're going to force the run game DURING A GAME. Figure the run game out in practice next week, but call the plays that need to be called to win the current game that we're in.
The one that pissed me off was after Hendo ripped off 8 on first down we ran it straight up the gut twice for no gain. Just push with Howard and that’s a first.

I mean let’s not rule anything out here.
We may need two tackles on the left side. no tight ends .
I have to say we did not do very well helping Zen today. We didn’t chip or use a TE to his side much, was stubborn with the run leaving obvious passing downs, and just lacked creativity I thought.

I would’ve liked to have seen us option Zens man. If you can’t block him then let him through and option him.

My biggest issue was the double fucking. If its a hit on a defenseless player, then it can't be a catch. A catch happens when a player has the ball and makes a football move. Once he makes a football move how can he still be defenseless? At that point he has to be a runner and therefore should be able to be blasted. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever and is one the the worst overall calls I have ever seen. 35 fucking yards.

Had to work, so had to follow via the Score app. Just happy we won. Think there was probably some rust; maybe some peaking ahead. I wouldn’t let the IU/Husker game dictate how we think the season will play out. Nebraska had 5 turnovers last week and were also 0-5 on 4th down conversions, which is technically another 5 turnovers. They had more time of possession vs the Hoosiers and the total yardage was only like 190 yards difference. The score indicates it should’ve been a bigger gap. I think Indiana played their best game last week vs the Huskers worst game.

Generally it's thought the best athlete (and possibly strongest) on a defense is the right defensive end
and we're already at choice #3 in our roster for the fellas that has to face the best players every play

I was surprised Zen was so unprepared for superior strength
Next week it'll be superior quickness
Jackson is the best of the OG/OT group... so that makes sense
Kinda like when we needed Zach Boren at LB more than we needed him at FB.. it worked out well
We may have better odds on a surprise replacement OG than finding what we need at LT

If Jackson moves to LT; who do you have at LG, Montgomery, Hinzman, or Siereveld?

After Zen Michalski's injury: Zen Michalski played poorly and Ohio State refused to experiment further at left tackle until an injury to Michalski forced its hand and the Buckeyes slid left guard Donovan Jackson outside as Luke Montgomery took his place. While Ryan Day said that was OSU's contingency plan entering Saturday, the team is still evaluating its options at left tackle going forward.

I just don't see a easy fix for the left tackle. The oline under Frye is looking to be not just suspected coaching malpractice by Day, but it is officially.

I agree with what you are saying. I sure hope Day sends that one into the B1G office for clarification too......:mad2:
