ND 34, TSUN 38 (Final)

Please. The only guys in the same class as Floyd are Bryant and Green.

Julio Jones is one of the most overrated players in recent CFB history. I don't give a crap that he can jump out of a gym or run a 4.4-40. He doesn't produce. One TD reception in his last 11 games. Yeah, what a stud there.

Damian Williams? He's not even the best WR on his own team.

Jordan Shipley? LMAO. Please.

BOLD: I'm sorry, but what? His numbers are against the top defenses in the country. And he plays for a coach who runs the ball first. Ask the Buckeye fans which player they'd prefer having on their team.

Italics: He certainly is. Don't believe me, listen to what every pregame host said about him prior to the USC/OHIO STATE game. "The buckeyes gotta watch out for Damian Willams, he's the best playmaker...etc

Underline: Again, I'd take a senior leading WR on Texas before I'd sniff an ND Wideout. Playing and succeeding against the best competion matters, Floyd hasn't done that, Shipley has. If it were 2008 his name would be replaced with Quan Cosby.

**In reference to Demps - I removed his name because I went Nationwide when ranking the top WR's.

Nice try, but not really. Only once in Floyd's career has he had more catches and yards than he did against Cissoko on Saturday.

Mike Floyd has only started in 10 games in his very brief career.

In 6 of them he's had over 100 yards.

3 of the other 4 starts? 86 yards, 93 yards, 69 yards.

Furthermore - Floyd might not even be the best WR on his own team.

According to the NCAA Stat Database - Golden Tate is being targeted and thrown too more often and has more receptions per game.

NCAA OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE - Football

You certainly are entitled to your own opinion. But not your own facts.

Golden Tate- receptions: 12, yards: 174, TD's: 2, 14.5 yards per catch

Mike Floyd- receptions: 11, yards: 321, TD's: 4, 29.2 yards per catch

Thanks for playing.

No, thank you for proving my point! If he isn't the #1 WR on his own team, how can he be a top 5 in America?

Yardage doesn't mean anything if you're measuring effectiveness. It's all about receptions at the NCAA level. Floyd is 2nd on his own team. Case Closed.

Michael Floyd is supremely talented. He is a top-5 WR in the country. For me it goes:

1. Dez Bryant (far and away the best)
2. Julio Jones
2a. A.J. Green
4. Aurellious Benn
5. Michael Floyd

That still doesn't excuse him putting up the ungodly numbers that he did. Cissoko right now, is just not good. Even Brian at MGoBlog says so. Yes, he can get better. But there is just something about his style of play that is supremely off. To him, it seems like getting a pass defended makes up for the 150 yards and 2 touchdowns that he's given up.

And that doesn't even include the missed tackles, or the touchdowns that were dropped and/or called back. Warren is good, but at the corner position you are only as good as your weakest link. Cissoko better get better fast.

That doesn't really make sense. If he has more yards and touchdowns with less catches, doesn't that make him more effective.

Are you really trying to argue that Floyd is not the best wideout on Notre Lame?

Coming from a guy bitching about hyperbole in another thread, you sure are using it a lot in this thread.

Tate is a good receiver, but he didn't play receiver till he got to college. He was recruited as a pure athlete I believe. While Tate has great speed and average hands, Floyd is deceptively quick, has the height, and big play ability. Tate also has a year of experience over Floyd, Floyd will surpass him this year with the way hes playing currently, unless they start double covering him.

The reason Floyd is #2 in receptions is because he gets large chunks of yards after the catch, which will often lead to scores. He gets plenty of receptions. Tate has 12 receptions on the year, while Floyd has only 1 less at 11...yet Floyd has twice as many TDs (4) and almost twice as many yards in 2 games (320). So far 1/3 of his receptions have resulted in TDs. Thats pretty good if you ask me. Also, you're on crack. You might wanna check his Yards After Catch, receptions aren't the only stat that count...

In any case, both are good receivers and I love having them on the team. If you've ever been to a game and seen both of these guys play, Floyd has been outstanding since day 1 and has a step ahead on Tate.
