ND 34, TSUN 38 (Final)

Cissoko was playing injured, and what are you Lloyd Carr in disguise throwing around the word tremendous?

If Cissoko can take any comfort away from that game, it's that Mike Floyd is the best WR that he'll face all year and nobody even comes close.

Thank you mh20. You are now my new platonic ideal for the word dipshit.

To keep the exaggeration train going, how good of a corner are you expecting the rest of the year? Lockdown? All-big ten? All-american?

There is no exaggeration train going.

I don't expect Cissoko to be All-B10 or All-American as a TRUE SOPHOMORE, but you are incredibly naive if you think that a true sophomore making his 3rd start ever cannot improve.

Especially when his 3rd start was against one of the Top 5 WR's in CFB right now. And that is not an exaggeration. Only a complete idiot would deny Mike Floyd's talent and his place in CFB.

Floyd is without a doubt, without a doubt, the best WR that Cissoko will face all year and nobody comes close for a second. Nobody.

That's not exaggeration, that's fact. Deal with it. DeVier Posey doesn't come close to Mike Floyd, don't get offended, just accept it as what it is, fact.

Jeff Demps plays RB and he's about 5-foot-9.

They'll throw to him more than they'll hand off to him. Particulary in screen passes. Not because he couldn't do it - but because of the people that share the backfield with him.

If you don't think Mike Floyd is in the same class as AJ Green or Julio Jones than you have no idea what you are talking about and should not even be taken seriously.

Ok. I'll go very, very, very, very slowly for you. Clearly you need a general education on college football and its many conferences.

*ahem*

Some schools play in a conference. A conference is a grouping of teams that play each other every season. Kinda like ND and the military academies - except most conferences feature difficult opponents (read: Not Stanford, Pitt, BC, Nevada or Syracuse).

Now, some conferences are tougher than others. That typically means they feature many teams that are very good. Notre Dame usually doesn't play these teams, they play the other teams. But back to my point.

The SEC is one of the tougher conferences. It features alot of teams that have done well in out of conference games in recent years. The teams typically are all fast and athletic and the defenses are nasty. Also, the conference has the best collection of coaches in America and they provide genuine schematic advantages (not Notre Dame schematic advantages, real schematic advantages) Still with me?

Now having said that - let's look at some stats:

A.J. Green Stats, News, Photos - Georgia Bulldogs - NCAA College Football - ESPN
AJ Green's numbers against SEC Competition

Julio Jones Stats, News, Photos - Alabama Crimson Tide - NCAA College Football - ESPN
Julio Jones numbers against SEC Competition

Michael Floyd Stats, News, Photos - Notre Dame Fighting Irish - NCAA College Football - ESPN
Mikey Touchdown's numbers agains Uncle Charlies Super Fun express schedule!!!11

There isn't a comparison. You dick around with below average competition and you demand recognition as the best. In actuality, your players and coaches simply don't measure up.

The funny part of all of this is I like Cissoko, he just still shows his youth too often. But carrying on...
There is no exaggeration train going.
No, just overly emotional responses and not actually answring the question. Nowhere in your post did you say what kind of a corner you expected, but then that's not surprising...

the bulk of your responses here are 'well, he can't get abused like that again so stop hating on the guy', as though that's a convincing argument.
Especially when his 3rd start was against one of the Top 5 WR's in CFB right now. And that is not an exaggeration. Only a complete idiot would deny Mike Floyd's talent and his place in CFB.
You continue to argue with yourself, tossing around extreme words like idiot when I'm not denying Floyd's talent in the slightest. Am I the idiot you are referencing?
Floyd is without a doubt, without a doubt, the best WR that Cissoko will face all year and nobody comes close for a second. Nobody.
Wonderful, that doesn't mean he's out of the woods, no matter how loud you yell it or how many loud words you type.

That's not exaggeration, that's fact. Deal with it. DeVier Posey doesn't come close to Mike Floyd, don't get offended, just accept it as what it is, fact.
No, no overstating your case here or anywhere else in this thread

But I do appreciate the defensive dig on posey. Personally, I'd rather see him matched up on Duron, and expect that Warren will be on Posey.

How am I suppose to make an honest assessment of what to expect from him when;

A) he's a true soph. making his 3rd ever start.

B) he was playing injured. Kid couldn't even move his right hand above his shoulder without being in pain.

C) his start was against by far the best WR he'll face all year and maybe the best that he'll ever face in his collegiate career.

I think he'll improve as he gets more experience, that he'll play better once he heals up, and that he'll appear better just for the simple fact that he won't face anybody all year that can toy with DB's the way in which Mike Floyd can.

What Mike Floyd did to him, well he does to every DB's he faces, and Cissoko's defensive front 7 did him no favors as they rarely got pressure on Clausen.

So, mh -- let's get directly to the point. Do you think that Cissoko can shut down Devier Posey or Duron Carter? If The Game were this coming week, I'd be betting on either of those guys getting 150 yards if Cissoko were covering them. He wasn't even close to covering Floyd, and even a "lesser" WR is going to have a field day with him.

Floyd just gets better and better as the thread goes on, hopefully Cissoko shows similarly dramatic improvement over his career!

I would put Floyd in the top-4, and a top-10 pick in two years, but this discussion is about spinning an awful day into a good thing since it can't be that bad again

You tell me. You seem to have a good enough grasp to disagree with other people's stances...

Who played extensively last year. This isn't like evaluating Herron.

That's a lot of assumptions... particularly given the fact that assumptions are the foundation of your rebuttals.

How do you think Cissoko will fare against bigger WRs downfield when healthy?

For the record, the 5 WR's I would take immediately over Floyd are:

1. Dez Bryant - Okie State
2. AJ Green - UGA
3. Julio Jones - Bama
4. Damian Williams - USC
5. Jordan Shipley - Texas

What happened to Jeff Demps?

It's obvious you have no clue in hell what you are talking about. Especially since Demps plays RB and Florida's best WR is Riley Cooper.

Please. The only guys in the same class as Floyd are Bryant and Green.

Julio Jones is one of the most overrated players in recent CFB history. I don't give a crap that he can jump out of a gym or run a 4.4-40. He doesn't produce. One TD reception in his last 11 games. Yeah, what a stud there.

Damian Williams? He's not even the best WR on his own team.

Jordan Shipley? LMAO. Please.
