It's secondary violation it's one of ignorance on my part if it was a mistake. I'll take the responsibility because I told the kid he could go to the game. I assumed he could go to the game. He did the right thing and I did the wrong thing.’’
On any indication if any punishment is coming? ``No, not at all. I don't have any idea. I don't think there's going to be a problem. I mean if he has to pay restitution or pay money to a charity or whatever then so be it for the cost of the ticket. It's really not as big as you guys would like to make it.’’

The NCAA might soon have the impetus it needs to wrap up a nearly 2-year-old investigation into improper benefits that Reggie Bush allegedly received while at USC.
Bush, through his attorney, has agreed to give a deposition beginning Feb. 12 in the civil case involving former sports marketer Lloyd Lake, the Orange County Register is reporting.
Bush has refused to speak with NCAA investigators looking into the case, but Lake's attorney said he would make a transcript of Bush's deposition available to the NCAA. Bush has claimed he did nothing wrong, but he has declined to go into details.
"He's going to have to make a decision about whether or not he's going to lie under oath," said Lake's attorney, Brian Watkins.
Lake is seeking to recoup what he says were $291,600 in cash and gifts he and a former business partner, Michael Michaels, gave to Bush and his family between November 2004 and January 2006.

And why would Bush voluntarily testify in any way? He won't help the NCAA in any way, shape or form.
The NCAA does not have subpoena ability.
The NCAA is a impotent, toothless lion and everybody knows it.
But, USC/Bush is getting it's "trial" in the media.

OK, if I had any sympathy for USC, (and unless they're playing Notre Dame I have none) I would state that they're in a fix. Real estate costs in most of California are well beyond reason. The University of California (of which USC is NOT a part) system began a program of buying land close to their campuses and putting up faculty housing because they could no longer attract professors given the high costs of housing. I never liked the idea of a jock village, with special privileged housing not available to other students, but it sounds to me like it's either that or giving athletes access to market housing. In that sense one wonders how it is that Buckeye players are living in condos in high rent areas. If market factors were brought into play we might find that OSU players receive comparable benefits to Messrs Bush and Jarret.
