Piney,

I've given up making my team, I am about 2/3 of the way done, but I've done a crappy job.....I made sure that I changed all stats that affect game play, but I gave up adjusted stuff like blocking ability for DB's (unless it was a player who may swap position in future.....or the comp had it at a really high rating to prevent me from swapping positions).

I don't know what you want to do with the rest of my team. If you want to just give me a new team....fine, if you want to finish my team....fine, hell if you want my sign in to finish it.....fine (should I trust him this much???? j/k).

Just let me know, but with me leaving for vaca tomorrow, i got bigger fish to fry.

read our dynasty thread as it seems it might be more trouble than its worth. will post more tomorrow morning when i am on a pc

Whobe and Piney,

I also need you two to take a long hard look at your 09 teams to make sure that you want to carry them over to '10. I'll give you guys up until I actually start the dynasty to make your decisions, but Whobe's defense is just awful, and he might be better served picking a new team. I think that Olaf and Piney will be in decent shape, but I just don't know if Whobe will be able to compete in an elite team conference with the team that Illinois has.

Piney will still have the first pick if he decides to not use his Oregon team, but I really think that there will be several teams available that are better than Whobe's Illinois team.

I am actually looking at other teams as I don't think I will be Oregon. Since it seems carrying over teams is a pain due to roster restrictions and the fact that the defensive rankings seemed to have changed alot in connection to their overall rating. And it might really screw with how they act in the game.

I was thinking the same. Outside of fullbacks, the offensive is fine in the transition. I recruited the #1 FB in Piney's dynasty. He turned out to be somewhere in the high 70s. TB took him all the way down to an OVR 47. It's the defense that really gets crushed. I recruited the #1 DE with UCLA and he's something like a OVR 67 in TB. I also got the #1 and #3 OLBs and they both suck in transition. I'm going to practice a couple games as UCLA when this game comes out to see, but if my defense is horrible, I may have to switch.

Four Elite, A+ teams. No 'A' rated teams, so I included all teams rated B+ or higher.

B+ or higher rated teams: This is before the roster fix, but I don't see any of these teams getting worse with the fix.

Team (OVR, OFF, DEF, SPT)
Alabama (A-,B+, A, A+)
Cal (A-, A-, A-, A)
Florida (A+, A+, A+, A-)
Florida State (A-, B+, A, B+)
Georgia (A-, B+, A, A-)
Georgia Tech (B+, B+, A-, A)
LSU (B+, A-, B, B+)
Miami (B+, B+, A-, A)
Michigan (B+, B, A-, B+)
Nebraska (B+, B+, B+, A)
North Carolina (B+, B+, A-, B+)
Ohio State (A-, B+, A, A-)
Oklahoma (A+, A+, A, A)
Oklahoma State (A-, A, B+, A)
Ole Miss (B+, B+, A-, A)
Oregon (B+, B+, A-, B+)
Oregon State (B+, B+, B+, B+)
Penn State (A-, A-, A-, A)
Tennessee (B+, B+, A-, A)
Texas (A+, A+, A, A+)
USC (A+, A, A+, A-)
USF (B+, B+, B+, B)
Virginia Tech (B+, B+, B+, B+)
Wisconsin (B+, B, B+, B)

This is what I know about the dynasty so far:

  • The custom conference feature does not allow me to make a new conference. I can just alter membership to current conferences.
  • Once the Dynasty has begun, I cannot alter conferences. The only point that conferences can be altered is when making a new dynasty (online or offline). I couldn't even take the dynasty offline, then online again to to try and alter the conferences. Once the dynasty stops being a "new" dynasty, conferences can't be changed.
  • Options:
  1. Take over the Big East as 8 teams, cap the league at 8, and everyone plays 7 human opponents.
  2. Take over the Pac-10 as 8 teams, add the remaining two most prestigious and highly rated teams for any possible new members, cap the league at 10 teams, and everyone plays the same amount of human opponents(7 to 9 per season).
  3. Take over one of the 12 team conferences, divide the league in half for each division, add the remaining most prestigious and highly rated teams for any possible new members, and deal with having an unbalanced number of human opponents. The unbalanced schedule is one of the big reasons I abandoned the MAC dynasty. One team had 7 human Opp. scheduled, and another had 4.

This is my vote.

Can I change USC's colors to pink and orange?

I'm actually going to have to insist that you do just that.

I didn't see any results when I searched for Piney. So I have no idea what Oregon will look like.

This was kind of my thinking too. Being the Big East or the Pac-10 seems like the best way to go for me. Pac-10 isn't as elitist, but we only get 3 OOCs[sup]1[/sup] , and up to 9 human opponents. The more Human games the better, as far as I'm concerned. The Big East will still have 7 human opponents, but we wouldn't be able to let anyone else in.

Really, unless we have 12 solid players, I don't think that being a 12 team conference would be the way to go. We never had a solid 12 players in either dynasty last year. Between work/school schedules and PS3s imploding, I don't know if we can expect a constant 12 this year either.

[sup]1[/sup]Pac-10 OOCs will be 2 home games and 1 away game, or 3 home games...depends on whether you have 4 or 5 home conference games. Basically, everyone will have 7 home and 5 away games.
