NCAA Football 2010 PS3 Super Conference

After spending several hours looking for a reason not to take them, I'm going with the Gators. I was originally going with Texas but they are off the board. USC was intriguing but with the game this year I couldn't do it. Florida's schemes are just too fun and I can already start practicing with them.

I feel filthy dirty.

I just (mostly) finished with Whobe's offense and I really like what they've done with the way they calculate the OVR ratings now. He had a few of his starting O-linemen take big hits for not having good blocking attributes, but he had other guys make huge jumps in OVR ratings because of their blocking ability rather than just being strong and having decent awareness. FB is not considered a RB position it seems. Blocking is factored heavily in the OVR. Whobe's 2nd and 3rd FBs took huge OVR drops, and I created his #1 FB as an HB, so I don't know what kind of hit he'll take when I switch him back to FB. If power backs are useful at all, he's going to be much better HB than just a max speed FB that can't block worth a shit.

Whobe, it looks like you'll have to make a decision on what players you're going to have to let go.

Roster spots that don't have a slot are: 3rd LT, 3rd LG, 2nd Center, 3rd LOLB, 2nd MLB, 4th ROLB, 4th FS, and 3rd SS.

I can fill 4 of those spots with players at other positions. Let me know which ones you want/need, and I'll leave the other guys off of your roster until we find out if we can create players once the game comes out.

Team Builder actually made me wonder exactly how NCAA 09 determined OVR rankings. They seem to make a lot more sense in 10. In my 09 offline dynasty, I had a 99 OVR CB that was an ATH when I recruited him. I needed bodies at CB so I put him there without really looking at his ratings. After going through TB I decided to take a look at my other team and this 99 CB had 30 Man Coverage and 30 Zone Coverage. He was fast, though. I should have made him a receiver since he Catch rating was pretty high.

I'll take the Condoms of SoCal
OK. Piney has the next pick.

Whobe. I finished your team. You'll have a solid offense, but your defense is terrible. You can check out your team by searching for IronBuckI on the teambuilder website. If you decide to not take Illinois, I can put you in the draft behind Piney.

These are the moves that I made. Every other player is made at their correct position.

Kurt Carter FB created as ...Not created (you still have 2 FBs)
Mike Smith LT created as...Not created (you still have 5 OTs)
Travis Brown LG created as DT (gives you 5 OGs)
Mike Harvey C created as DT (gives you 2 centers)
Martez Wilson LOLB created as ROLB
Jermale Hines ROLB created as...QB
Lenny Slaughter ROLB created as...Not created (you still have 6 OLBs)
Kris Crawford MLB created as...HB (gives you 3 MLBs)
Tate Cook CB created as WR (staying at WR) (gives you 9 Wrs...didn't have good enough RB skills to move to HB
Tim Hamilton FS created as CB (leaves you with 3 FSs)
Brian Gamble SS created as CB in place of Demarcus Parks. Better at CB than SS. (gives you 5 or 6 CBs, depending on what you do with Hamilton)

Demarcus Parks 40 OVR CB...not created.

I finally finished creating UCLA on Team Builder. The following players need to have their positions switched:

  • HB 15 Brent Hartman is really a QB
  • HB 33 Derrick Coleman is really a FB
  • WR 7 Courtney Viney is really a CB
  • WR 26 Andy Terrell is really a CB
  • LG 67 Greg Capella is really a C
  • DT 93 Keenan Graham is really a RE
  • DT 11 Donovan Carter is really a LOLB
  • SS 20 Glenn Love is really a FS
I used UCLA's current recruiting pitches in the B10/P10 Dynasty. This season UCLA is a 5* team with these pitches (Followed by what I put in TB):

  • Academic Prestige: Excellent (A)
  • Campus Lifestyle: Elite (A+)
  • Coach Experience: Excellent (A)
  • Coach Prestige Excellent (A)
  • Conference Prestige: Excellent (N/A)
  • Championship Contender: Excellent (A)
  • Athletic Facilities: Elite (A+)
  • Fan Base: Great (B+)
  • Pro Factory: Great (B+)
  • Program Stability:Excellent (A)
  • Program Tradition: Excellent (A)
  • Television Exposure: Good (Bullshit, I bumped this to B+)

Cool, I'll check out TaylorBuck's team next chance that I get. I'll just switch the TV exposure back to a C+ when I load it into the dynasty. :tongue2: You get to keep the team that you built. That includes the negative stuff. If you were able to go offline and keep a shitload of young speed guys that no one else will have, then you'll be good to go for a couple of seasons while you rebuild your TV exposure. Whobe's is either at Good or Very Good too, and that's where it's going to stay.

Change of heart. After making Whobe's team and starting to double check Olafs. I think that starting Illinois, UCLA, and Oregon at their original TV exposure (Great=B+) is probably the best way to go. They'll still be behind most of the other teams picked, but they won't be severely handicapped by '09s glitch.

Those teams have good frontline players, and will be competitive in this league, but they're not going to have the depth that the rest of will have, and handicapping them in even one recruiting category probably isn't the right thing to do.

Here's a little issue I have with starting this league. Released on the 14th........

I am on vacation till the 19th.........

Then I have camp on the 21-23.

So, basically, I can't play either leagues till the night of 19th.

Then, I have two days, then gone till the 23.

I am not sure how you commish's want to handle this.......but it be great if you could work my schedule out to have bye's in week 1 and 2.....or perhaps a comp game week 2 would work better. Give me something to do on the 19th/20th.
I won't be starting the dynasty for about a week anyway. I plan on going through several seasons of sim with just Drunken Clown and IBI. That way I know what to expect as far as all the capabilities of the online dynasty, ways to setup/alter the conference to fit the needs of the players after it's started, and to sort out ways to handle any possible bugs that the game might have. EA also said that they plan on having a download for the fixed rosters, and I want to wait for someone to post those rosters, complete with names, before I start the dynasty. Plus, there will be patches that we'll want to download, and if there's time, I want to see who has a decent set of heisman sliders that we can start out on, but won't make everyone crazy.
