Have you seen the freshman speed that Smooth has brought in?

Yes I did, that is why I am curious on how well you play with my Oregon team against him. To see if the speed I recruited in the secondary is enough to stay with his guys.

Two completely different styles of play, IMO. The team that you built may not fit Basebuck nearly as well as it fits you. Either way. You'll let me know when you let me know. Another option is to get into the draft, and if you like your Oregon team better than what's available you can take them. If you like what's available better than you like Oregon, then you take that team, and both your Oregon team, and the team you pick are removed from the board.

I know different styles of play, but I at least can get an idea. Plus 2010 should be a different style anyway so that can be all rendered mute if a slow CB can keep up with a fast WR due to the WR/DB interaction difference.

I like that idea though, put me in the draft and then I can make the call when it is my turn to pick, unless someone feels frisky and takes the regular Oregon team before I pick... If USC is available when I pick, it might be a close call to pick them so I can have some fun with Olaf :wink2:

I'm not big on the idea of Piney being able to pick a team and keep the Oregon team. I'm thinking it would be fair to pick a team according to draft order. For example, if Piney picks third he has to pick either his old Oregon team or a new team at that point.

By the way, any idea on the draft order yet?

That is how I assumed it would happen. If I picked 3rd, then when it is my turn to pick I then decide to keep my Oregon team or pick a new team.

I can't read

Wayne Campbell: Am I supposed to be a man, am I supposed to say it's okay, I don't mind? I don't mind. Well, I mind! I mind big-time! And you know what the worst part is? I NEVER LEARNED TO READ. (Splashing water on his face to simulate tears)

Cassandra: Is that true?

Wayne Campbell: Yes, everything except the reading part.

One thing about doing the Team Builder thing on my own is that I'm learning the ins-and-outs of my team better than before.

Marcus Pollard, my 99 SPD sophomore CB, also has 67 Catch, 76 Spectacular Catch, and 85 Route Running. I'm about to make him my 3rd receiver. Oh, and he has 80 Throw Power with 62 Throw Accuracy.

A 99 Speed option QB? Hmmm....

Yeah...I'm keeping UCLA.

I'm almost done with the team in TB. The ratings adjustments I've noticed are:

Positions getting a boost in OVR Rating:

QB
HB
WR
OL
DT
MLB
CB

Positions getting CRUSHED in OVR Rating:

FB
DE
OLB

I haven't gotten to the FS, S, K, or P yet.

I've only gotten through QBs and HBs for Illinois so far, and those two positions do get a decent jump in OVR compared to 2009. I'm willing to bet that all of you guys' 2009 B to B+ teams will be bumped up to A- to A OVR teams, and will be on the same level as the other elite teams that the rest of the league will be taking. It looks like all of the blocking attributes weigh pretty heavily in the OVR of a FB. You RBK and PBK is reasonable, but the rest of the blocking ratings are pretty low compared to some of the best FBs in the game. Hopefully the OVR actually contributes to the actual skill of players, rather than being largely irrelevant.

I did have to go through and make sure that I set the team colors to match the logo, rather than the default red, white, and blue. I also had to add the 'm' to Champaign, Illinois. :smash:

I struggled with putting Shelton in at QB almost every season that he was at UK. When it came down to it, the option game just wasn't realistic enough for me to make that switch. If you were to run a true flexbone option, or even use the West Virginia/Michigan playbook, I really wouldn't have a problem with that. You've got too many good QBs on your team to change to that style, and have your 99 speed CB injured in the first or second game though.

I'd love to have a league full of vastly different styles of play, spread option, spread pass, flexbone, pro style, balanced run, etc. That would truly make this league a matchup nightmare for all of the players. :tongue2:

I would also suggest that everyone play any demo games on the heisman setting. My lone game against Florida was a 24-7 victory for OU on all-american. Considering that the demo only plays 2 minute quarters, I think that talent level of our teams might dictate starting out on heisman, and tweaking the sliders as we need.
