I just hope they fix the speed thing

having a HB rated in the 90s and being basically useless because he only has like 88 speed and having a HB in the 70s be a unstoppable force because he has 95+ speed is just ridiculous
My biggest problem with speed is the availability of speed guys in recruiting, not the domination that those guys have over the game. There are 14 guys with 96+ speed in the first season (none are 99), and 41 guys at 95. Apparently they think that 96 is elite speed and 93 to 95 is great speed, and everything else is crap. In the fourth season of Piney's PS3 Dynasty there are 41 guys with 96+ speed and 8 of them are at 99. There is another 44 guys with 95 speed. I just don't think that there will be 85 college football players that are as fast or faster than Flash Thomas by his senior season.

They make the 90s rated RB with 88 spd ,no agility, or acceleration, but 91 awareness completely useless, because they give way too much weight to awareness, when there are other factors in the game that barely impact rating, but have more impact on how good they are as players.

I'm ok with a 98 or 99 speed guy with mass agility and acceleration, with ok hands, carrying, or catching dominating the game, because that happens all the time. What I don't like is having so many guys with ludicrous speed, and if they are going to have that many guys with pure speed, they need to knock down the amount of guys that can start and stop on a dime and be back up to full speed immediately.

yea I see what you are saying

what I was basically trying to say is that this game (09) made power backs basically useless even if they do have good or decent acceleration and agility, I had to bench PJ Hill in your dynasty because it is near impossible to run with him because of his speed rating, same thing with Ray Polk on my Colorado team in Pineys dynasty he is rated in the mid 90s with acceleration and agility in the mid 80s, but only has 89 speed every time I try to run him he rarely picks up over 2 yards

on previous versions of the game you could run with these type of guys but not on this years

P.J. Hill ran all over my ass, so shutup. :tongue2:

I hear you about the backs with less than 90 speed. Even if they are made to get the tough yards, they effectively get laid the fuck out a lot more than I've ever seen a 220+ lb back get hit head-on by a diving at the head safety or linebacker. People just don't hit Hill or Beanie high like that play after play and never get injured. I expect a lot of hits at or just past the line with my power back falling forward. Not a full on stoning of my guy one yard behind the line on damn near every play.

I think the speed is so bad this year because the defensive angles are just plain horrible this year. It makes alot of players seem faster than they really are.

Regarding the option... is their a cheat button on pitches? Cuz I can NEVER pitch the ball as I am being tackled. Seems like anytime I get touched I can no longer pitch the ball. So fill me in!

But one thing I really hope for is fixing the shotgun option plays. Since they are being used a ton more they do need to get special attention in either cleaning up the design on the play, or cleaning up the blocking (probable more of a blocking issue versus a design issue)

Then again I heard that they are redesigning alot of the spread option packages since it is everywhere in college football now.

I loved create-a-school. I used to make two juggernauts, put one in Florida and one in California. I'd bump all of their player's attributes way up, and I would play against them. I'd usually get beat, but it was a pretty fun challenge.

Hell yes!!! Canton is football town!!

Anyways, I used to create a cupcake team with a ridiculous team name and try and take them up to the top

Too lazy to grab the link (really my work blocks the site and it causes problems for me to grab the link)

But the latest report from the NCAA programmers are customized conferences for offline & online dynasties. So if you want to boot Penn State from the Big 10 and replace them with Notre Dame... go for it.

Or, you can create an online dynasty with a super human conference with Ohio State, USC, Florida, Oklahoma, etc...

It all depends on what the defense is using to tackle. If you use the stick to tackle up high then the offense won't be able to pitch the ball. If you try to take out the knees, the O can pitch it.

I've also noticed that the CPU almost always tackles high on Heisman. On AA its the opposite

Big movement on NCAA news.

First off the NCAA 2010 website is now live. There are new screen shots there, but since I can't access it at work, hoping a few guys can grab the pics and post them for me.

NCAA Football 10 : Football Video Games : EA Sports

Release Date: July 14th

There will once again be a different athlete on each cover. (Announcement April 19/20)

"First Look" at Online Dynasty is April 9th.

This weekend is also Community Day at EA for NCAA. A bunch of NCAA junkies will be testing out the game to give feedback to EA about what needs to be fixed. The only downside is these guys can't talk about what is in the game as this even is designed to get feedback to fix the game still early in its development versus getting info out to the gaming public.

http://insideblog.easports.com/archive/200...l-be-there.aspx

And in a separate item. The Madden people are showing the new WR/DB interaction and route running with more realistic acceleration into the route and making cuts (basically the WRs will be moving slower in their routes). It has been confirmed that this will be in NCAA.

The idea behind it is to actually use the route running rating to determine how quickly you make your breaks in your route and on what affects it has versus the DB. The hope is that straight line speed will not determine who gets open. Now a 'slow' DB with a higher rating will be able to cover a pure speed WR with no route running skills. The additional hope is this will stop the ability to take advantage of RBs as WRs as their route running will be horrible.

Also a part of this is WR/DB 'jostling' where there will be contact, a way for bigger more physical DBs to cover pure speed WRs. In addition they mention that now LBs will 'bump' WRs crossing in their zone on defense.

Seems like alot of talk or potential. It will all come down to how they actually implement this into the game successfully.
