2025 NC OL David Sanders Jr. (Tennessee Verbal)

Well, here's hoping that's fake news. however, to the Frye packing his bags and all, might be better to cut the cord quickly, rather than doing it a couple years too late as in the case of our other OL coach....Seem to recollect that Chip 'offered' Frye to tOSU. Now why would one do that if he was doing a great job at UCLA? Seems like the puzzle fits better in the rearview mirror than the front windshield. Go Bucks!

Sure was.

Frye can pack his bags after this year.
Lets see what happens on Sanders, but if he goes elsewhere...yeah, he is probably gone. Its not just the recruiting misses this year, it is the lack of foresight to have alternative plans. Yes we should go all in for Sanders, but where are the rest of the OL we need? I know it is a little early to make any definitive call on Frye, but it is not looking good so far.

I think Frye is doing a decent job developing the oline. He does need to change it up with his recruiting.

I think OSU went all in on Sanders. From what I have listened to, if Sanders goes elsewhere, losing him is not a result of having a lack of effort to get him.

I listened to a podcast yesterday, and they shared something interesting. OSU only offered 15 o- linemen, compared to 40 to 50 + offers of other programs. That figure is scary, and leads to big vulnerability.

I’ll just say this, Day has shown he will fix staff problems. He always has. The moves with Walton, Knowles, and others seem perfect.

If Frye stays on, I can guarantee Day will be sure more offers go out in the future. But Day might also cut bait on Frye. I suspect he will lean on Kelly for input.

Listening to Days interviews from camp and it’s already obvious he is fully into the CEO role and that seems to be helping him a lot.

To me, the performance of the O Line this year will matter more for Frye keeping his job than losing out on Sanders. If Frye stays, the net WILL be cast wider.

Frye….smdh
February 2023 - that’s OK. He’s just getting started. Day specifically went after him because he can recruit.
February 2024 - that’s a little concerning but let’s lick our wounds and know that we will have a great Class of 2025
August 2025 - not OK. But at least we can land a stud or two in the portal.

I am of the belief that there is something off here. Elite National OL Recruits are looking for reasons not to sign with OSU. Ohio State will not be able to compete for championships without some elite OL. Ryan Day waited 1 year too long to flush Coombs and it probably cost us a Natty. Saban would have run Frye after last year’s OL recruiting failure. Saban expected great recruiting AND great OL coaching wire to wire.

Letting Frye go before the season is not in the cards as the early signing day is in December and the seasons starts now. But if were Day I would start looking for a replacement so that he can pull the trigger the day the season ends.
