BUT, I can promise you that a gambling scandal would have been a much bigger deal if it involved NBA people. I can promise you that if an NBA player was charged with the attempted murder of his agent, it would have been a much bigger deal. I can promise you that if an NBA player took a stick and smashed it upside the head of an opposing player, it would have been a much bigger deal.

ill put that in context. espn doesnt sign a tv contract with the nhl. nhl starts season with "new nhl" aka "new" rules. nhl outdraws nba in attendance, nhl and nba are just about dead even in tv ratings... im not saying espn guys have been known to have motives for thier stuff, but its fishy to me.

golf, probably the biggest group of stuck up fuckers. arrogance is sickening of these guys. sure some of them are real good people. but no sport has more fakes than golf.
i must wholeheartedly disagree. i've met enough professional golfers to realize that most (95%+) are down-to-earth, affable guys. for example, colin montgomerie has always, or at least until very recently, been considered too proper and full of himself. the reality couldn't be further from truth. a couple years ago i saw him talk to a country club's caddies and employees for over an hour. listening in to his conversation, i heard him talk about women, food, and farts. he's a very nice guy. there wasn't a fake bone in his body. vijay singh also has the reputation of being aloof. away from the cameras, he's as goofy as a 13-year-old. you couldn't find a better guy than ben crenshaw. that guy's all class. while these examples are anecdotal, the list goes on and on. i've met numerous professional golfers, and the stuck-up golfers are definitely the exception.

the only golfer i've met whom i didn't care for was justin leonard. actually, the bear himself can be very disagreeable, too. anyone who really follows golf knows about jack's reputation. however, this characteristic of the bear is part of the reason of his success.

ive seen that. but like i said perception and reality. some of those guys are like that in those situations knowing what it means for image then are flat out dicks. i personally think of all the sports golfers are the biggest conmen. think shooter mcgavin from happy gilmore. but like i said earlier, our realitiess are driven by experiences and our perceptions

of course, our perceptions are our realities. it can't be anything else but. the question is: is your perception borne from your experiences with those players or only from what you've seen on television or read in articles? i'll take first person interaction and observation each time. it's not as though i had (before i met many of them) a preconception that golfers were actually down-to-earth. i'm not stating that there aren't professional golfers who are "conmen." however, it is my experience with those golfers (while they are away from the cameras and crowd) that they are largely normal guys with abnormal abilities. the number of professional golfers who have lived in their cars, worked poor-paying jobs, and scrapped their way through no-name tours is remarkable.

Father Of 7 Children By 6 Women, Shawn Kemp Admits

In November Sprewell was benched during a game for laughing during a timeout when the Warriors were losing badly. According to various sources, including Sports Illustrated's Phil Taylor, he called his coach "a (expletive) joke." He was thrown out of practice two days later and then was fined for failing to arrive in time before a game at Utah. The climate was ripe for a physical confrontation, especially since the team was playing poorly and Sprewell wanted to be traded. On December 1, the team was practicing and Sprewell was doing a drill with teammate Mugsy Bogues. Carlisimo then told Sprewell to "put some mustard on those passes," according to Taylor of Sports Illustrated. Sprewell told Carlisimo "I don't want to hear it today." Carlisimo came up to Sprewell who told the coach, "Don't come up on me." Carlisimo continued to approach the player who then said "I'll kill you" and began to choke the coach.

I can put some more in here if you need me to.
